A petition for the USA to increase the NASA budget to 1 penny of the total tax dollar for the betterment of it's future industry, oh and man may get to land on Mars and beyond sometime in our lifetimes.

Meh, the US didn't want that space anyway...the Chinese will take it instead.

I for one welcome our soon-to-be space overlords ! Bear

US officially has two space programs. One is run by NASA. Second is run by US Air Force.

The way I see it. NASA will keep doing the telescopes and robots, and for that they need very little money compared to what they needed for flights with human crew.

Furthermore, now that shuttles are grounded, NASA can use same rockets that Air Force has been using for decades, should reduce launching costs for both organizations due to economies of scale.
