'Hulkageddon V - Unholy Union' & 'Jita Blockade' events officially announced for

Disclaimer: The 'OP' only wishes to inform the industrial community of these events and is in no way involved in the staging of the following events (Although Goons posts to make him laugh.)

It was thought that after Bat Country, a member corp of the Goons alliance, ran a Hulkageddon event of their own earlier this year that there may not be an Hulkageddon event open to all pilots this year but.................[:?

Hulkageddon V has been officially launched for this year by the self-professed 'Unholy Union' of Helicity Bosun & The Mittani and will begin before the end of this month and probably last for four weeks from the starting date. A date of April 28th has been mooted as the starting date for this 'double-headed' event. Shocked
The emphasis for Hulkageddon V will be the destruction of Hulks & Mackinaws although other industrial vessels may or may not be listed as targets. As suicide gankers cannot claim insurance for ship losses an insurance-style prize system has been implemented in addition to the usual prize list which has not been collated yet. This 'insurance prize' of 100 million ISK can be claimed once the victims of ten kills comprising Hulks & Mackinaws have received 'congratulatory' Evemails and said evemails have been forwarded to Helicity Bosun/The Mittani/Goons by the ganker responsible.
This event is a 'double headed' one and will be preceeded by a one day 'Blockade of Jita' event the precise details of which have yet to be announced.

I am curious as to how many people will play with the goons blocade and fly cheap insured ships into jita just to be destroyed by them to cost them money. Heck I may just do that if I get bored and start selling ships in jita, I could probably make a pretty penny off them.

Not probably. Hulkageddon V is a go once The Mittani is back in-game. The Jita Blockade is a one day event so just don't go near Jita on that day. A temporary inconvenience. Smile

Not probably. Hulkageddon V is a go once The Mittani is back in-game. The Jita Blockade is a one day event so just don't go near Jita on that day. A temporary inconvenience. Smile


I don't think it's a one-day event. If you look up the SoundCloud website here The Mittani made it sound like it may last for way longer than a day in addition to the plans The Mittani mentioned about wiping out Tenal and possibly other regions. Therefore, don't expect this to be just a one day event. I've made plans to account for two months in case this drags that long.

PS: My ganker alt has now completed its skill training and is now capable of piloting an Oracle now along with related modules. The time will come when us industrialists move out and gank our competition to the ground. True industrialists are grizzly bears, not carebears.

That's funny. I don't see anyone complaining about humankind going out into the wilderness and shooting defenseless ducks that can't shoot back or outrun a bullet. Nor do I see anyone, except maybe the extremely-few-in-numbers vegans, complaining about us killing cows or pigs that can't seem to defend themselves either. What about the turkey? Only one turkey gets pardoned per year but then ends up being shoved down the grinder in front of a camera crew interviewing a GOP vice-presidential hopeful preaching about how we should respect animals.

This is just a sporting event. It has been publicly announced months ahead of time. There is almost no place in the forums that haven't seen anyone post something about it. People bring it up every now and then on either local chat or on NPC/Player corp chat. It's also pretty hard to ignore in game when the miner next to get's ganked. If the miners are intelligent enough to see what's going on ahead of time then they will prepare and adapt. Those that are unresponsive (ie: BOTS) or are simply not bothering to heed the warnings that a large miner-hunting event is underway are practically asking for it. It's even been announced on social network sites like Facebook and Google+. You would have to be deaf, blind, and unable to read braille to not see it coming.

Since these two events are meant to have a direct effect on the market, especially in regards to minerals and the economy as a whole, then I endorse it because it provides an opportunity for me to cash in on my production lines. If it was about hunting bots, which is not, then I would've refrained from it because legitimate miners should not be punished for the actions of the bot minority. But it's not about bot hunting. It's about the market. That's it.

I was a big fan of the idea of a lowsec belt with ridiculous resurces being the target of faction warfare and scannable only to those who engage in it, but we all know the goons would probably settle the place, or at least the one in gallente space.
