Well I've said this before and have yet to see anyone from CCP coment on it.

For Incursions we all knew the plan.. or at least, the intented plan of Incursions release. We were informed about a month ahead of Incursion, the blog explaining It was detailed, informative, it worked..

What has happened within CCP for this working procedure to be halted for Incarna? And will they ever return to it?

The only reason I can see.. which is entirly inplausable, is that nobody knew! noone at all? We understand that specific details cant be given because its all a WiP, but you guys must of had some kind of plan, some idea of what you wanted to accomplish.

The problem is that CCP STILL doesn't know what the point of walking in stations will be except to be a pain in the ass. Anything we'd be able to do on our feet would be easier to do with a simple window interface (which is also why amazon.com exists). That is, everything except /dance.

That's why in every CSM summit before launch, the incarna devs stonewalled the meetings. That's why for years and years and years the only description was that it was going to be soon™ and awesome™. In other words, never fully implemented and never having any reason to exist in the first place. No matter how much work CCP puts into incarna, it will never be good. It has no place in EVE.

As Zulu intimated in the dev blog published last week, the company took a good look at where the game was headed and wasn't entirely pleased with the direction it was going. This occurred after we did our release planning, which had some very specific plans for both FiS and Incarna. What we're doing right now is saying "okay, what exactly is it that we need to do next to make EVE the game everyone loves again." We're still making plans on finalizing what will come next, and while we do no some fairly general ideas, the producers and designers really want to make sure we're solid and happy and can present information to you guys that has enough detail that will satiate your appetites.

One of the things the Community team has been working on, Guard in particular, is trying to get bits and pieces out to you guys as quickly as possible. You've seen this most recently with Torfi's blog, and we do hope to have more information from Zulu as soon as possible. I can say that this is one of the Community teams highest priorities. :D

That doesn't answer the question of what the Incarna team has actually delivered in the period between the Incarna rollout and the time this "introspection" started.

I'll make this really simple: have they produced anything that is ready to roll out onto the server since then?

what the set out to accomplish with incarna was getting more money to spend on WOD & DUST while we alpha test the stuff for them.

i'll be honest i was one of the few looking forward to incarna but ccp let us all down by providing a crap product

Mal, yes, the remaining CQs. Those will go into testing, but I do not yet have a solid date for when that will be. That was what my italics were hinting at earlier at the thread, but I've said "we don't know yet... soon" so many times it's almost to the point of serious offense to you guys, which is a line I'd rather not cross personally.

Yeah, dates can come back to bite you. (/me looks at own schedule)

Is the new plan figured out or is it an ongoing process? The last I heard from Guard was that there were blogs in the pipeline so I'm curious if we're about to find out about the new plan or if we should expect it to take awhile.

That kind of sounds like those 3 CQs aren't ready to me, but let's OK, roll with that. I wonder if you'd like to tell us how many dev teams it took to finish off doing 3 reskins of the CQ in just three months after the expansion launched? (I won't ask about establishments or player shop fronts or anything like that, I promise)

It would be genuinely interesting to compare that with the length of time and number of Devs with which CCP propose to produce the entire winter expansion on which so many of our hopes rest.

OK here is my suggestion:

1: Fix obvious and known bugs and give us a megapatch that resolves ALL the obvious and known issues in one-shot.

2: Balance the unbalanced stuff

3: Complete all unfinished stuff

4: Deploy new stuff

goto 1

While you do all that sfuff (step 1, 2, 3) you will have all the time you need to meditate on what to do in your next expansion.

Every time you will have succes in one of the steps:

1: We will be happy to play EVE

2: You will receive gratification and profit from EVE

goto 1

Spoke with Guard and he will see if he can get a blog written that goes into some detail about the creation of the CQs. _NO PROMISES_. He'll try, like I said, but tbh I'm not aware of their current workload and if they have a slot for a blog atm. Sometimes a team has a lot on their plate and don't have the time to write blogs

I'm glad CCP is actively replying to the players and generally being as helpful as possible. I'd much rather CCP take their time, instead of rushing a project.

Thank you Fallout for being helpful. Big smile

Atta-boy to you Fallout. (Seriously, this is a difficult time, so I'm sending you a good word.)

At this point CCP is on thin ice and the best you can do in the short term is damage control. Y'all need to re-establish some level of credibility/trust. (And PR spin / dancing perilously close to lies won't do it. Not accusing you of that. Just saying that that is the perception which CCP must recover from.)

You are doing a better job communicating with the players / us than some others, and I wish you luck. I really would like to continue playing this game for the long term. (But playing *for the long term* requires some level of confidence that there will be a game I wish to play/pay for a long term.)

Again, good luck and I hope CCP can turn this ship to an acceptable direction in time.

Although I feel I'm quite the hated figure on these boards, hell I know I've annoyed many GMs Devs etc :)

I have a few things to ask and Its serious with zero sarcasm....honestly non at all! I swear....

A. If theres no time to a blog, what are you guys doing? You make the CCP offices sound super busy.

A blog takes 10 minutes of typing given that you already know what the content is gonna be it should be a quick and easy way to make the community happy.

Ask me to talk about my profession and right off the bat I could give you an essay without a second thought, surely a blog from you guys should be the same?

B. The new CQs look great! I'm glad that ramp is being taken away and it also looks more polished but if i may, are you attempting to cut down the GPU load for when these go live? I think many will agree that CQ right now uses alot of GPU and this should for sure be a front line thing to look into fixing.

Confusing, much?

The community asks for CCP to take their focus away from Incarna and spend resources developing FiS. They apparently listened and are doing exactly that.

Now you ask where is the rest of incarna?

Then you wonder why CCP has no idea what ticks its playerbase?

The world is a community of idiots doing a series of things until it explodes and we all die.
