Any definite word on the "tri-race" Battleships?

Hey,

Was just wondering if CCP has said anything on the "Tornado" and other possible BS's of that genre and if they are going to develope them into the game?

I may be way behind the curve on this topic and apologize if i am.

I'm gonna be a little generous to CCP here and say that implementing a new ship probably isn't that easy. Specially when you consider the fact that if you give the Minmatar a new battleship, then you have to give the other three races a new battleship as well. That four brand new ships that they have to develop.

Now, I'm no expert on this sorta thing, so I don't know how much work that actually entails. However, from what I here, CCP isn't much more than a bunch o drunken monkeys smashing server with hammers, so I suspect this would be a bit of an arduous process for them.

Also, I may not remember correctly, but I seem to recall them saying something along the lines of "We THINK about implementing the winning design."

Actually - CCP fallout talked about it yesterday in a mail with me. Find mail below.

The ship is currently being discussed by Production, e.g. when to deploy it and how, so that they can fit it into the development plans.

I might have been incorrect in the backround of the battleship specs. It maybe just another 2 - race hybrid faction. apologies.

If they end up adding the tornado though, they'll have to add at least 3 more faction BS to keep it balanced.

Well they have an Amarr battleship as well with the Mentor. The winner of the second contest.

So now they just need a Caldari and Gallente design.

I like the Mentor a lot more than the Tornado so I really hope it gets put in the game someday too.
