I ask for the following change.

A dron button works like a modual, sends all drones asigned to that button from your drone bay to attack the target
If you have nothing targeted and Hit the button again it will return the drones tou your drone bay, (would be nice if they got a extra speed boost while returning).

Prity much i want drones to work like moduals you click the drone icon, they shoot out and attack the target. Just let us drag a group of drones from the drone tab to the action bar ?

No they aren't.

And more to the point, your idea of their default behavior is terrible. Sentry Drones are one of the best counters to Falcons in this game. If I am jammed, and have no targets, you're saying the button's default behavior is to recall my only viable weapon?

You want to dumb my drones down to an imbecillic level so your Warrior I's get a few extra DPS.

Come back and tell me if you feel the same way when you can deploy and successfully utilize some tech II sentries.

My drones feel free to ignore the 'focus fire' command on a fairly regular basis.

When my drones start to 'ignore' me they are damaged or under the effect of an ewar. For PvE it means it's time to pull them in.

This is in the pipeline.

While that slide is an early concept for the new UI, you can see that a module-type interface for drones is something that the developers want to do. (It was also stated during the EVE keynote.)

Problem is, you are comparing weapon systems with what has become a support weapon system.

Drones can be destroyed, turrets/launchers can't.
Drones have travel time, much longer than both turrets and missiles, unless it's a sentry, which is stationary.
Drones can only be launched in a group of 5 max.
Drones have no damage mods, the way both turrets and launchers do.
Drones have a max range of 65km with all skills at V, require a high slot mod to reach further.
etc., etc., etc.

Your comparison is also kinda flawed, as FoF launchers will fire automatically at the next threat, even when you don't have a target. Though you do have to re-activate after a reload, I believe (been a while since I used a launcher).

Considering Gallente tutorial specifically says that drones are Gallente racial weapon system, the same way as projectiles are Minmatar racial and lasers are Amarr racial, it makes for a very poor state of affairs in the drone department. Add to that the fact that Gallente have the worst ships in the game, and you've got a problem.*

* - I say "fact" that Gallente have the worst ships based on the video presentation from FanFest 2012, which clearly shows Gallente as having the least functioning ships, 9% less than either Amarr or Caldari.

Yeah, fair points. I agree with what you say except:

The travel time isn't that bad. Small drones can go pretty fast. Plus the travel time is only to get to the target then to the next or back to your ship. It's similar, in some ways, to the reload time of missiles and projectiles. The main draw back is when you want to quickly escape and you don't want to wait for your drones to get back. They get left behind a lot.

FoF missiles are very situational. I'd only use them if I know I'm going to get jammed. They do less damage than normal missiles. You wouldn't want to use them in normal situations.

I would have said that the difference between drones and other weapons is a bit like the difference between missiles and turrets. It's a pity they don't have damage mods. I think CCP fear that they would be overpowered if they had damage mods. Probably the reason why only the sentry drones have damage rigs.

Thanks for posting this. Wish we had a hi-Rez version of this image to get a better idea of what the devs are thinking. However, I am hoping we'll be getting a UI devblog soon.

I think it's pretty likely that we'll receive a major UI update in the winter expansion, so I would expect a devblog regarding that subject sometime in Fall.
