Ok look.

I was, and still am more or less ambivilent to Mittens and his sitting on, and drama related to the CSM.

Fact is, EVE is not some Platonic Republic where we are governed by wise long-bearded philosopher-kings sitting in the golden halls of the CSM. Nor is it some Athenean Democracy where every man and his poodle get a say.

Heres how it actually works, in 3 simple points:

1) CSM is a customer service tool, owned by CCP, made up of players. Ultimately, CCP is legally responsible for the CSM.

2) Why? Players agree to the EULA, a legal contract where you pretty much agree not to be a total asshat.

3) Mittens broke the EULA, at a CCP public event, while sitting on the CSM, all of which CCP is legally on the line for.

Short, simple, easy to remember.

We needed this thread. It's different from the others in some intangible, unfathomable way. It provides us with deep, cutting insights into current events that can be found only in this thread. The OP is a bringer of light, and he sheds that light on ideas which NO ONE has presented before. We should look in awe at his feats of wisdom! We should marvel at his intellect! We should thank him for enlightening us and the rest of the world!
