Need advice on dualboxing L4

Hello. I need an advice on dualboxing. Currently I have 1 mission toon and 1 dedicated salvager/hauler toon. During a mission my salvager mostly sits idle while I kill some rats and then collect debris. Seems that missions would be finished faster if I used 2 combat toons and then salvaged wrecks after completion while starting next mission on other toon. What do you think should be those 2 ships for duaboxing? Preferably T1/Navy faction. I thought about Maelstrom+Navy Dominix/Navy Scorpion. Are there any other pairs that will be better? And what is more preferable on low-attention requiring alt: SNI or Navy Dominix?

Once you have 2 combat ships running, you will never want to pause from blitzing missions and break out the Noctis, as doing so would lower your ISK/hr. For blitzing missions, I run a Tengu / Maelstrom combo that works pretty well for me. The Tengu can apply full DPS to the larger ships up to 115km, while the Maelstrom pops the frigates/cruisers and shreds anything that gets close. There are plenty of duo combinations that work well though, with the general goal being two high DPS ships.

If you want to keep salvaging your missions, get yourself a pair of Marauders (e.g., double Vargur). Then you can salvage while you clear the missions.

Recently posted this elsewhere....;

My personal method.

Find a system that has 2 level IV agents in the same station.

I have me in my Nightmare/Tengu/Nighthawk/Astarte(considering changing this up for a Talos) (mission dependant).
I have my alt in a very, very heavily tanked Dominx with Sentries, Heavies and remote Rep drones (shield/Armor dependant) with Remote armor or shield reps (mission/ship dependant on the above).

I then accept a total of 4 level IV missions.

I will blast through them... fast. A combination of high DPS main ship with a logistical Dominix with sentries makes for quick missioning. I rarely worry about aggro because of having all that tanking locally and remotely.

Once I complete those 4 missions, I will run back. Hand in all 4, then send out the alt, to salvage & loot all 4 missions.

Whilst I am doing this, I am running 2 level 4's with me at the same time. Usually, this will end at the same time as the salvaging, at which point I will make a judgement call on whether to loot & salvage those two, or just begin the cycle again.

I could just do the blitz of 4x4x4x4 all the way through, without looting, but I have a little manufacturing plan in mind for the future which I would like to try out...

As others have said, there is better and quicker ways to make money, but this works for me and keeps me engrossed. I like trying to multi task a lot, so... its fun.

My personal aim is to move onto a WH at some stage, as despite what I am doing being quite good, I want something new. The general opinion is a multipurpose dual box will make more money in a wormhole, from what I have read.

Take it easy.

I'm just handing the looting over to Pro Synergy. Those guys loot and salvage without bothering me about joining a fleet, just abandon the wrecks and contract the bookmarks and continue with the next mission.. and the next, and the next, and the next.... :-)

Hello Hartwig, from my experience the most efficient dualboxing combo for l4 missions are 2 turret pirate battleships.

Looting/salvaging just slows you down, I would avoid missile (counting volleys, target painters) and drone (taking agro, cant move) ships too. Best would be machs, nightmares or combination of them, both with light local tank and 1 with mwd+tractor.

Hi Hartwig, i think is depend your skills and space where you want run mission, personally i use triple box, one tengu and 2x full dps nagas, this team got almost 2100dps.

Remember if you decide to use any ship that use guns you got nice efficienty vs one max two npc rases but not good vs all npc, so while you chose nightmare or any amarr ship you do a lot dmg vs sansha and blood while is harder to break other npc like guri, angel, serpentis, if you chose hybrid you get awesome efficienty vs guri, eom, serpentis etc while low dmg vs shansha. blood.

Somting about drones, i dont like them even i have curple milions sp in drones in every character, just because while using drones i lose a lot time to give orders eath character like atack target return and scope etc, and second reason is hard to focus on all character, and while you use sentry you have always to be near them because you cant aproch gates you always have to scop them after battle, so i prefer (lock and fire) withaut drones, but is depend your game style.

Try use tengu or any t3 strategic cruiser as tank + decent dps, or any ship as main tank and second ship as pure dmg dealer, try use any trier 3 bc a lot fire power and nice agility, speed statistic.

If it bleed we can kill it.

ATM I'm training up two Domi drone specialists. Use T1 drones and let em rip while your guns take out long-distance targets. You'll lose the occasional drone, but it's no different than using up ammo and T1 drones are cheap anyway. If you use T2s or sentries, then you have to babysit which decreases the effiency of dual-boxing. With dual-boxing you can only pay 50% of your attention to each pilot, so drones (bots) seem to do the trick. Just a suggestion.

I personally can't multitask that much to effeciently use 2 characters at once, which sounds like something you can't do either if you have problems using your alt to salvge/loot while doing missions. So I would go with something more AFK friendly for additional DPS. A missile or drone boat would be my prefered method. For missiles I would use a Drake/Nighthawk, the extra drones they carry help out and just use FoF missiles and set to orbit you. The FoF missiles will take out majority of the smaller ships that close in on you fast as well at the drones assuming your not in a structure rich mission while you can take out the BS ships at a distance.

The other way is with a drone boat, and I personally stick to a Domi, Gila, Ishtar, Rattlesnake and than just have them use Sentries which will probably work best. I probably just use the T1 sentries as their cheaper and consider them disposable this way I don't have to keep track of them which make life easier, and have my main character focus on BS size ships.

Other people have other methods, to each their own.

General rule for max performance are two uber dps ships with same fitting.
