Look at these amazing ship textures!

So when are we going to get skins/textures for the Caldari and Gallente capitals/supercaps that don't look like they were imported straight out of Doom II?

The updates skins for the Caldari/Gallente subcaps look great. Kudos to the art department. It would be nice to see the bigger ships (you know, the ones players plan and save and grind and scheme to get) some love too.

Might be good for the bottom line, even.

I bet they didn't bother in a "pff, Caldari caps suck anyway, no one flies them" sort of thing.

Totally agree, some of their ship textures are pretty bad. It's not consistent.

Last I heard all capital ships where to be done for the winter expansion followed by stations and star bases. V3 is a secondary project but it encompasses everything. Primary Project is whatever the expansion calls for. Tritary Project is to remodel every single ship in Eve.

They just can't do everything at once. So they started with content most visible to (especially new) players: non-capital ships and newbie frigates. To avoid more different looks within one race they decided on doing two races at once instead of ships by class or size; capitals excluded. They definitely won't stop after Inferno and continue with capitals, stations, etc. Till everything is updated.

Wait, what? A landing strip? On a spaceship? I don't have much experience with these types of ships, so someone please tell me why a spaceship would have a landing strip.

Edit: You know maybe I'm overlooking something here. I don't have a lot of experience with scifi tv-series so maybe this is something normal.

I'll bet the art department could clean up these ships in a few hours. Just look at that link! Those are some of the worst textures I have ever seen.

it's a carrier, it has landing strips for the fighter drones which are supposed to be human piloted.

You don't know bad textures and low poly until you take a look at some minmatar design,just sayin that some designer left in middle of a job and called it done.

Pieces literally are kept together by nothing..that kind of lazy job don't belong in any game let alone EvE.

To be fair, CCP did state that Capitals haven't felt the loving touch of the V3 project yet. Currently they're focusing on subcaps.

So, I'd expect most of these things to be fixed over the next 12 months or so.

I got a mechanical the other day and i think that could do with some updated texture work. There are a few thinks that are sloppy design wise thinking about it.

Just a thought. Why don't you go export the Chimera and it's textures using triexporter, and UV map it yourself? Let us see what you can achieve. before complaining.

I can relate to this: I'm actually a professional unrealED FPS map developer and I see this kind of thing quite alot. People take alot of time building a multiplayer map giving great details, great flow of the map etc but what's mostly always bad is texture alignment.

Normally you build things with 1 or no texture and when It's complete you texture it up and you have the final project. As it is always the last thing to finish therefore rushed.
