removal of meta 0 loot drops...

So, what is everyone's opinion on this change? Will this mean that there is profit in making basic modules or is the lack of profit more caused by the what I mine is free mentality?

Will this have some impact on mineral prices also or does the reprocessing of meta 0 barely contribute? (i know when I salvage missions I usually reprocess all meta 0 loot and give the minerals to my indy characters.)

So what do you all think?

I think Gun Mining should die.
And I think at least 25% of all minerals should be destroyed when refined. (No more refining stuff that is on market allready)

It's good. Drone poo nerf is also good but they need to do it better than they are. As someone in the drone regions, they need to add content that makes it more interesting than its set up.

Good for industry as a whole, as T1 stuff WON'T be seeded by missions for no acquisition cost, and mining will be more vital with less minerals seeded by NPCs.

Bad for my ISK/hour, as I'm currently relying on recycled mission loot to top up my mineral supplies for manufacturing.

well unless the change the drops on named mods then i dont think manufacturing meta-0 will be worth it
since named will still drop like water and they're better anyways

on the mineral part, well they'll get to even higher pices than what was originally thought

Urbino,

The big change behind this is that it will make t1m0 manufacturing something to look into for other reasons than mineral compression since you NEED that stuff to make t2 out of it

That's fantastic news for new players looking into industry

right now most t1m0 stuff is sold at below reprocessing value, making manufacturing a pretty stupid idea, but that will change for sure

It's gonna be a net zero effect... they remove drone loot which makes zydrine go up so the extra money you would have made from the removal of meta 0 drops will be nulled out.

I've been talking about exactly those changes since Mining hit rock bottom.
Especially in nullsec no one really cared about mining and on-site production because of:

- Ease of access to major trade hubs (eg. Jita)
- Ease of making money (Anomalies net at least 75m/h raw isk + loot & salvage for me)

I always liked the extensive crafting framework of EVE but making ISK shooting red crosses was just much to easy and fast compared to mining and production.
Now I'm getting my hands on some tasty BPOs and dust of my mining alt :>

Kudos to CCP!

as of today, mining in low sec will give about 80% of the isk/hour mining the nocx heavy ores compared to mining Bistot in NULL.
Mining Nocx heavy ore in empire will now give you something like 6-6.5 million isk per jet can
Mining Bistot gives you about 11 million isk per jetcan.

Remove drone loot / Remove Meta 0 loot, Jita Interdiction weekend, then straight into Hulkageddon all with CCP killing bots.

The isk influx have been solved by putting the prices correct at 2-2.5 times the price we had 6 months ago.
New players will make a LOT of isk mining in empire, so only bitter vets will cry.

well played CCP, well played.

The mission runners pretty much put all their meta0 (and 1 and 2 for that matter) through the reprocessor anyway, because minerals are much easier to sell. So they don't influence the meta0 market. This can be deduced by the very low volumes and prices of meta1 and meta2 mods on the market.

I completely disagree on the state of the T1 market.. There are actually a lot less idiots and botters selling meta0 at or below the cost of the minerals and it's quite easy to get profit margins between 10 and 40% if you find a good place where the demand is good (like for example where RvB is running their ship-grinder).

Long term there is hardly any effect. Since the original meta0 nerf a year (2?) a go, the volume of meta0 lewt is insignificant in relation to the broader economy.

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

Overall, its a long term boost to mineing as it combined with the removal of drone loot removes a large mineral fauset, which is going to cause price rises until the profession expands. Its neutral for manifacturing as any cost changes can just be passed onto consumers. Possible nerf to mission runners due to income removal, depends on if there is an increace in the drop rate of meta 1-4 to compensate. If there is an increase in meta 1-4 drop rate, will have minimal effect on mineral price due to louzy reprocess rates for the meta modules.

Going to have crazy spikes in the short term for all items due to speculation/labor inflexability. Long term price impact overall will depend on how many people are willing to switch mineing, which is worse then mission running for tedium, as well as requireing retraining time. Depending on how the numbers turn out, will likely spell the end of mission running alts, instead becomeing mineing alts, which will inturn lead to a faction item price spike, unless the 0.0 players who run those alts instead turn to complex running in 0.0 for income instead, which should keep it from riseing too much.
