C4 combat sites in 3 man team ?

Hey,

I'm researching if it is possible to do C4 combat sites with a 3 man team that doesn't involve Tengu's. At least not atm since we can't afford them. The goal is to survive C4's long enough to afford them and then do them with those. The current setup we have flying around isn't great so I'm looking to improve on it somehow and just survive them. Doesn't matter if it takes an hour to finish them we don't care, we just want to survive and finish them.

Atm we are flying:

- Nighthawk that can easly do C3 solo
- Proteus that seems to hold it's tank if it keeps up it's speed
- Megathron (this guy is actually pretty "new" in the sence that he can't fly command ships yet)

Is there any way we can improve on this team with the tools at hand (aka no tengu's)

Sofar we where able to finish a few radar, magno and ladar without to much of a sweat. But it's the combat sites we are worried about. We checked Eve-Survival and googled a lot but most of the time you just read one word "Tengu" ... On Eve survival it seems like, oh just 2 BS ... but there is probably more to it then that ...

Any help or direction would be appreciated

We run it with a Basilisk that has a Dominix rr/cap buddy and then whatever buffer shield dps people want to bring

I used to run c4s with dual basilisk raven raven and that was over tanked. We swapped to basi, domi, raven, raven with the domi supporting the basi and running the cap chain through the ravens. Thats approximately 800 and 1250 dps for each combo, both broke the tank of the anomalies but the 800 was hard for some of the remote rep sites. You only need 700 dps tank in a battleship, less if you can mitigate damage by moving with an afterburner (like the nighthawk).

If you have trouble breaking the remote rep try using jammer drones (ec-300s are great for this). I would suggest some form of spider tanking until you can either recruit a logi pilot or run full passive nighthawks that are tanked enough to handle about 6-700 omni. The raven is a great ship for this because of its two spare high slots and great potential for buffer tanking. Another option if one of you can fly basilisk is to run a 4-2 or 5-1 setup and run the cap chain through the battleships. If you can get to that 800 dps threshold and 700 dps tank you should be able to handle any anomaly.

If you have any questions feel free to send me an evemail, i wrote all this on my tablet so i probably left something out.

hey,

thanks for the responses sofar. As for getting another player thats not an option we are just the three of us and we'll have to find a sollution with that in mind. On the plus side one of us has a second account that has an oneiros He can multibox 2 accounts putting us at 4.

How about 3 domi's and the oneiros could that do the trick ? I like the Raven idea if it wasn't for the fact that I'm the only caldari pilot ... told him 3 years ago to go caldari ...

Then again he can fly a loki ... So a combo Loki, Nighthawk, Megathron/Hyperion could that work ?

3 Domis and an Oneiros could easily handle it. More than enough DPS if you have even moderately competent drone skills and the Domis can provide bonus logi/cap stability.

Well I can fly Domi with sentry drones but only L1 as does my friend. Our mega guy will probably only be able to field T2 combat drones. So it will depend what you call moderate decent drone skills. I'm getting the distinct feeling we just wait and keep on skilling untill we can field 3 nighthawks or 3 tengu's ... Dreadfull prospect since our third guy has to skill 180 days before he can fly a NH ...

With just the NH and the proteus we are able to kill the first and second wave of frontier barracks though :) With a lot of warpouts. We aren't even going to attempt the third one ... scrams and nothing but RR no way we can do anything there :)

But if you have a good walkthru on to still pull it off with those domi's fitting or plan of attack I'm open for input.

The question is, why would want to do them in anything but a Tengu. Your isk/hour will be negatively impacted in all other ship types for various reasons that the Tengu doesn't need to be concerned with.

And BTW, your highest isk/hour in a C4 is a 2 man fleet running anoms.

Don't ban me, bro!

Well we play Eve very relax and don't really care about isk/hour. We just want to find any combination to beat the C4 combat and radar sites. Even if it takes us 3 hours to complete one site. We just don't want to loose 300 mil ships while trying to beat it. We just have the problem that one of us 3 is actually way to new ... Only me with the NH and my other friend with the proteus can dish out the damage and tanking. My friend actually conceded to me and is training caldari cruiser V now so in about half a month he should be in a NH.
