BPOs / BPCs & ME / PE

To start, I'm about 2 weeks into a return to the game we all love after a 3ish month break for RL reasons.

Before leaving I was doing research (internet, not in-game bpo research) on the world of blueprints in the game. I found a couple of knowledgeable players and they gave me some really simple rules and numbers about the PE & ME on blueprints to abide by. Most other credible players concurred.

This info was apparently flushed out of my memory with the 3ish months of new information my mind absorbed during my break from EvE.

From what I can recall there are certain ME / PE numbers that represent max efficiency before becoming unnecessary waste and overkill assuming you have Production Efficiency skilled to V, which I do. And in addition, those numbers were dependent on the item type of the blueprint, i.e. for ammo the numbers are X ME / X PE and for ships those numbers are X ME / X PE and for mods X ME / X PE, so on and so forth. I want to say there were 3 categories but I could be wrong.

Would some of you please be kind enough to refresh my memory? It would be much appreciated.

General rule I use is 15ME for ships, 50 for everything else. After ME 5 you really don't gain a whole lot anymore though. For PE I go 10.
