what is the point of contesting incusions?

what is the point of contesting incursions?

why can a second fleet burst in a site where another fleet is already operating and finish it for themselves?

If you want to do HiSec incursions, better bring your multibillion isk ship or you wont be able to compete...

Think of it as indirect PvP. And it's by design

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

For the same reason that a Tengu can come flying in behind you in a PLEX burning at 800 m/s a with an AB and steal your faction kill/loot. It's high-sec which protects you; it doesn't protect your loot or "your" rats, or your missions.

If there was no reason to fly shiny ships aside from efficiency, people would just fly T1 battleships fit out to gank with an extra logi. By having it this way the market for high-end mods and ships continues to be lucrative because it gives a huge competitive bonus to the people who purchase them.

While you're right, its still pvp.

PvP means player v player. Unfortunately many people think this is limited to some form of combat. This is not the case.

Any sort of competition is pvp; OP is averse to pvp. OP should quit Eve.

"Uh yeah, we didn't really have a f*cking clue what to do with the next expansion. Its funny, but some temp intern was all "how about group PVE?" but I quickly fired his ass. Then at the next meeting I brought it up as a joke and everyone loved it. Of course, we went ahead with it and just made all our player base angry at it raging over Incursions. We cannot wait to see how much FW will be the next Incursion and Incursion become the next FW cause *laughs* after Inferno since no one wants to run lowsec PVE as it is generally a death trap but for the few diehards then we will read some more "Move level 4 to lowsec" and nerf mining income yet again to act the part of a decoy. FFS, we just cannot understand why nobody is ever happy yet these same goobs are in highsec with their despised enemies."

OP, here is your solution. Stop running incursion and just go back to mission running. Best source of steady income with low risk (aka minimum wage job) and minimal social interaction.

You sound sad, It makes me smile to come into a OTA and steal it off a Scrub fleet, But they then follow us? I mean.. Contesting ISN is rather stupid.. Just move system, Commen sense.

Just because you got there first doesn't mean you own it.

Back when I was exploring I would come into a site sometimes and someone would be there. They would then get mad because I didn't leave. Hey, I scanned down the site same as you did just because you did it first means squat.

Same applies for Incurions.

Actually I have won contested sites even with a fleet which consisting mostly of t1 and a few machariels. Even against shiny fleets which thought they would win automagical. Many fcs seem not to know how to deal with contests, others have strategies for this too.

Remove insurance.

Go do incursions in low sec, you can shoot everyone that tries to do "your" sites.
