quickest ways to level 4 missions?

I run 3's a lot on my characters, and I always do the storylines as long as the storyline doesn't involve hostile action against an Empire faction. Every story line will give you a standing hit for the other 2 factions, but the hit is smaller than the bonus you get for the fact you're working for. Avoiding the missions that require hostile action against Empire factions, I'm able to have 6.0+ standings with Caldari and only -3.00 standings with Gallente on one pilot. On the other I have 5.0 standings with Caldari and -1.00 standings with Gallente. I don't mind it - as long as I can fly through their space I'm not bothered, and if I need to get positive standings all I need to do is run the tutorial agents. :-)

If you have all Empire Faction standings above -5.00 which allows you to enter all Empire space, you can do the level 1 SoE Epic Arc and complete it for Amarr to get around +8.00 Faction standing increase with no derived standings towards the other Factions. It can be completed every 3 months.

For some real quick Faction standing increase, complete the level 1 Amarr Data Center 'Cert' missions. Those will incur derived standings, both positive and negative, towards all Factions though.

OK, I forgot to add "without being attacked by Empire Navy NPC's". My mistake.

So let me restate it:

"If you have all Empire Faction standings above -5.00 which allows you to enter all Empire space without being attacked by Empire Navy NPC's, you can do the level 1 SoE Epic Arc and complete it for Amarr to get around +8.00 Faction standing increase with no derived standings towards the other Factions. do the Blood Stained Stars for SOE or The Right to Rule for Amarr?

I was referring to the level 1 SoE Epic Arc - The Blood Stained Stars.

Towards the end of it you get an option of choice to complete it for 1 of the 4 major Empire Factions which results in a rather nice increase of Faction standing.

There are no derived standings incurred towards any of the other Factions for completing that arc.

Thanks Crimson. Knocked out the first 2 chapters last night and will do the rest this week.

Funny thing, as I landed on a mission point that was surrounded by newbie players in Catalysts, a Rifter suddenly turned on me and started attacking. I was in the middle of eating dinner, had all my guns un-grouped and my hardners and DCU II turned off. I quickly fixed everything for PVP and almost took it out before it warped off.

Sorry little pirate was camping mission points that 3 day old toons were running. I checked the life history of those catalysts and every one of them was 1-3 days old. Wonder how many new players quit because of something like that.

I think you will find the faction reward at the end of the epic arc is +8.0% to your chosen faction, not a fixed +8.0 point increase. The information stating that there are no negative movements to the other factions from this is correct.

when i began playing eve as minmatar i didn't know about accepting missions which will send you against amarr/caldari and the role standings had... a few days later i was already lower than -3 with amarr.

since then i declined every mission which would send me against amarr or caldari, even the storyline missions...

3/4 year later i have now 8.4 faction standing with minmatar and i am still at -3.8 with amarr... only 3 entrys in 2012 where i have negative standing changes with amarr (one of them -0.0%) and i have no idea what i did to get them... i did tons of storyline missions already.

so as long as you don't accept missions against the other faction you won't lose any at all.

just had a look, the last standing hit with caldari was at 18.08.2011...

i faintly remember someone telling me it was every 6 months, but don't quote me on that.

edit: according to this, the reset time is indeed 3 monts

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

So Dumb noob question alert... is it going to be faster for me to buy and level connections skill rather than grind to level 2's?

Damn, I must be getting forgetful in my old age. Another dumb oversite on my part. Guess I need to re-edit my original post again. Thanks for pointing that out.

Since we're getting all technical, I guess I'll point out that the actual 'BASE' standing increase for completing the Level 1 SoE Epic Arc = +7.00%

Training up the Social skill will increase that amount by 5% per level. At level 5 Social, the standing increase for completing the arc will be +8.75%

just finished it for Amarr and went from 2.06 to 2.72. I was hoping for a much bigger increase. Anything else I can do quickly get up to 5.00?

Train up Connections skill and Social skill. Work the various Event Agents listed in 'The Plan'.

That's about it.
