I can't wait for the highsec loot nerf.

If this is anything to go on, it will still leave an unbalanced market in the aftermath of Inferno. Especially with Mexallon and Isogen, the two redheaded stepchildren of the mineral market. They're supposed to be valuable. They're not easy to get in large quantities through highsec mining, but their prevalence in garbage loot drops make them near worthless.

Isogen and Nocxium straddle the boundary between low and high-end minerals. The current price difference (give or take a few isk):

Isogen: 80 isk
Nocxium: 1000 isk

NPC ships should drop some ammo, tags and nothing else besides the bounty, unless they're the rare ships in lawless space that drop meta 6+ modules. Trit and Pyerite are at a fair price, due to being mineable absolutely everywhere in highsec. Mex and Isogen should not also be so ubiquitous.

That's a pretty cool chart. I have to argue with the morphite numbers though. I can't remember the last time I've seen a skiff ever and I frequent 0.0 back end and dead systems quite a bit, no one mines in skiffs. Unless there is morphite aplenty in high sec mining sites or am I missing something?

Anyways, yeah all signs point to much higher mineral prices which will makes lots of stuff more expensive. I am officially calling this a mineralageddon or mineralapocalypse whichever you prefer. Some T1 ships are getting real close to their reproc rates where you can buy and reproc ships for profit. I just don't have the heart to buy all the tier 1 BCs and reproc them, they are so fun to fly, I think I'll just stockpile them and pray for tierageddon to make them awesome.

Most T1 ships have had their price adjusted upwards but there's still some room to go. Been making tons of isk buying and hold ships/minerals for the past few days. This is fun, CCP is right they do need to shake things up more often.

I wonder how much is that chart accurate.

About morphite .... not many people mined it, thats truth. But you have to mine a bit of it if you wanna farm large gravimetrics, so there are people mining it.

Morphite also has low consumption by manufacturing processes, people DO mine it. Mercoxit is the primary source for it.

Meta 1-4 SHOULD be dropping from NPCs

Just not T1. Besides, T1 is not used that much, and its main role right now is to devalue mining. Very glad to see T1 drops gone from NPCs.

meta 1-4 are fine. NPCs not dropping decent loot would be terrible for the economy.
mining sucks unless mining became fun mineral prices would run rampant.

That chart was created in 2008 using data from a dev blog at the time. It is definitely not accurate to today's mineral markets. It is unfortunate that CCP has not released information on mineral sources like that in such a long time.

Though it would be nice to have, I prefer they do not let that information out until after the 24th. Right now the market is our play ground. Once CCP gives us some facts, it becomes their play ground. Despite my desire for all sorts of information from CCP regarding this or that, the fog of not knowing everything makes it more fun.

clearly the high mineral prices can only be blamed on a low amount of miners.

Even in 2008, when the numbers were released, there was reason to doubt the usefulness of them. While I do not think CCP ever responded with a c/d on the topic, the "loot" numbers seem to be pulled from all items reprocessed that were not specifically ore and alloys.

This means that items that can only be made by manufacturing were also included in the breakdown. It also opens the door for double counting, which only further casts the knee-jerk interpretation that so many players made about these numbers into doubt.

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

Your thread Title needs to replace the words High Sec with Null Sec. This will effect Null a lot more.

see this is always the problem with ccp due to the fact that they think with a socialist mindset. they nerf succesful ppl down wht they truly need to do for miners is put out a mining ship that hold more ore than you can mine in 10 damn minuets. and mines faster. all these new frigging ships over the years what we need want and deserve is a t3 mining ship and a capital mining ship and capital mining drones. buff the miners up dont drag everyone down to the same level. think like a capitalist not a socialist!!

While I appreciate the fact you've been watching a documentary on politics and want to share your findings with us, you must have missed the news that income for miners has increased.

Wrong. All that would do is make the problem they are trying to fix even worse.

As for your political ramblings, It sounds to me as if you'd like to see those slurping from the government entitlments get even more of other people's efforts.

Mining is working as intended.

As a miner, I totally enjoy my time out in the belts. It's a teamwork environment, laid back and relaxing. It beats a sov grind for me anyday and i'd rather be chilling with my brosefs chatting on comms and chewing on rocks than dealing with running anoms over and over and over christ talk about tedium.

... it has it's excitement, yes it can be very exciting when a neut jumps in and you run for you life
... it now has a reward that is starting to balance out a reasonable return for time invested.

It's getting old watching the entitlement generation take over Eve, waaaah it doesn't suit me perfectly or waaahhh give me a super duper mining ship so I can make a billion isk an hour or waaah I log in so you should just give me ISK.

You want to make real isk, mine in null sec work with people, make friends with a rorqual pilot who has perfect T2 boosts and that cool mindlink that goes for half a bil... The tools to make good isk are there and it's fun to some of us so suck it

you simply misunderstand mining sux they boosting mining by nerfing missions and drone drops therefore taking from one group to help another nerfing one side to help the low side is wrong. make ming work better because it stinks like it is which is why most ppl do not mine. the pay is too low a miner in hi sec is lucky to make 4 mill and hour 10 if your lucky a mission runner can make 20 on bounties alone so dont
nerf missioning. think like a capitalist and make mining yield faster. or give bigger ships or even more sensable make mining ships with better tanks. so i would have to say most of you knee jerk and miss the fact that taking from one group to boost the other is a bad idea

Mining was designed to make money on a group lvl. No regular miner that I know of doesn't have a partner or multiple accounts unless they are bots. Right now in high sec mining pyro is approx 70m per hour with a fully upgraded orca and 2 hulks. Not tonnes by any means, since even with the right links you can lose 3bil in about 15 secs if your not watching. In null with the same setup your making 140m an hour. And a few more hulks a ror or a sport ship and your making great money. Mining was never meant to be a solo effort hence why the boosts come from ships you DON'T use to mine
