Advice on specializing in Recons

So I am working on specializing in Recon ships/skills at the moment. Currently training Amarr Cruiser 5 (already have Gallente 5) and then taking Recon from 4 -> 5 after.

My question is what other skills should I be putting in my skill planner for after the Recon/Cruiser training is done (about another 30 days for both).

Character Sheet

This is my current skill sheet.

I plan on flying the Curse/Pilgrim (small gang and solo), and the Arazu for fleets/small gang.

Any advice is much appreciated.

As always, thanks in advance.

How about skills that make you better in a Recon? Big smile

The Curse and Pilgrim are both excellent ships. They both are primarily drone boats. The Curse is also a neut ship, so you want skills to enhance those (example: they require a lot of energy to activate).

Lol yes I understand that. I was hoping to get some more specific advice i.e. which skills are of more importance, etc, etc.

Well, I think you've got a good start. I don't see any major holes, just skills that could use level 4 or more.

I'd personally recommend getting the Core Competency certificate skills up first, as those will help you in all ships.

Yes the plan was to get Cruiser/Recon to 5, remap and start finishing off a few things (t2 armor tank, etc) then switch to whatever for flying the Recons effectively.

Just kind of lost from where to go from here. Have been trying to find more info and there doesn't seem to be a lot of GOOD/up to date information out there for recons. There are some sparse tidbits here and there, but nothing that is very specific.

A recon pilot really does a lot of flying. Most times you will be a primary in short order, and you have to evade, kite, run away, etc.
Remember that a dead Recon is worthless, but a Recon that has gotten away, and is in warp, returning, is always better Cool

Your nav skills can use a boost. Even if you are not properly mapped, IV's and V's may save a ship sometimes.
Light drones. Recon bays fit lights. And small ships will be a big enemy.
T2 medium guns. The long range variety. Beams or rails, because you will be kiteing, useing your range, right?
Electronics that will compliment an Arazu, and maybe later a Falcon.
Armor tank skills. They will also boost anything else you may ever fly.

Recons can be fun as hell to fly, and spendy to lose. You will lose a few before you get the real hang of flying them. Don't get discouraged when you do. Getting good in them is a serious accomplishment/valuable asset.

combat drone operation IV
drone durability IV
drone navigations IV
electronic warfare drone interfacing III (only if you want the extra 3km range for the 10hours)
advanced weapon upgrades III (easier to fit)
long range targeting IV (not necessary but would hurt)
targeting V (same as above)
kinetic armor compensation IV
em armor compensation IV
thermic armor compensation IV
explosive armor compensation IV

try bringing all your navigation skills to IV

If you fly amarr ships these skills have to be on V
energy management
energy system operations
hull upgrades
repair systems
warp drive operation

you can go for T2 medium guns + gunnery supprot skills but if you fly curse/pilgrim it's drones that you need to look into. look at the 'race' drone specialization skills

for an amarr pilot you lack a few basic skills. In my opinion all the rank 1 skills have to be on V
