I really wonder if this module will work on capital ships?

'Woah **** that ceptor is burning onto my carrier, better align to a celestial, activate the Micro Jump Drive and go into warp right after'

And of course '**** that ships are bumping me so i cant initiate warp, better get off 100km lololol'

It's all part of the bad post cycle.

Misinformed Post -> Try to Defend it - Claim Troll and that others are mad.

I want this mod to be less a GTFO module and more a GTFI module....something for blaster ships to use to get in range instantly would be awesome.

Sadly, what it will be is yet another GTBI-module (Get the blob in).

While it's a new mechanic and the idea is to bring something new and fresh to the game... the way the mechanic is built, it's built around conveniently and coherently moving mass.

I foresee the main use of the module will be transporting a large grid-pushing force across the grid to reinforce the push.

Too abstract?

Consider a large Drake-gang for a example, sitting near a gate and using the ever so popular point-web-logi-HML 60-80km sphere of death. Then consider them getting kited in their fringe, in an attempt to force them to stretch and commit, by a smaller force. Next, see how this module will have the same effect within 100km as probe-warps have outside of 150km. The larger gang does not have to land ontop of the smaller gang to push/bleed them further, all they need to is to land well enough within their projection range and force the smaller gang into another dance of death, where they must try to escape the killzone a second time.

That will be the #1 use of the module, which sadly is yet another ease of mass, "we have more bodies on grid", function - discouraging emergent PvP. It will be a module that skewer the numerical balance in favour of numbers, and will have a negative effect on the small gang roaming that create emergent gameplay. Less fights will happen.

I believe you people are forgetting Micro Jump Drives are battleship class modules.

Oh, are they? I must have missed that bit in the presentation.

I guess the point still stands in relation to various popular BS-comps (Baddons etc.), but it's definately reassuring to hear they won't be standard on the typical BC-blobs. The BS will at least have some lock-time issues and won't pull their support in with the jump.

That make quite an important difference.

It also has a spool up time(it's not instant jump the moment you press), it only moves you 100km in the direction your ship was pointed, and it sucks cap like a mofo.

according to the data dump:

its a battleship sized module as it takes >1300 PG
It takes 30 sec to spool up (-5 seconds per level of skill trained)
it shoots you 100km in the direction your ship is facing preserving speed and direction of travel.

Sounds ideal for running the first pocket of Worlds Collide.

how are u suppose to stop this in low sec they need to make scrams or infinite points stop this from working that or make the wind up time 5 mins

as is i will be fitting 1 to both my erebus and nyx lets see teh whine when i escape hic points in them

WoW/Lineage II/etc are still better than EVE in some things. So, becoming closer to wow isn't always bad Smile
