Which is better a Covop's Frig at level 5 or a T3 cruiser at the same electronic system level? Thanks in advance.

Covert Ops:

10% increase to scan strength of probes per level

Emergent Locus Analyzer :

10% increase to scan strength of probes per level

Yes, but which is better? Blink

If you want to try running the sites with the same ship, the T3 is obviously better. The Covert Ops is cheaper.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I prefer T3 with a nullifier. I can't be bothered to train Covert Ops 5.

Example:

[Tengu, Prober]
'Halcyon' Core Equalizer I
'Halcyon' Core Equalizer I
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Photon Scattering Field II
Shield Boost Amplifier II
Invulnerability Field II
Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Invulnerability Field II
X-Large Shield Booster II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II

Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe I
[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I
Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer
Tengu Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix
Tengu Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Tengu Propulsion - Interdiction Nullifier

It depends on what you're doing with it. They have the exact same probing strength bonus at lvl 5 but each has its own set of strengths.

CovOps:
Cheap hull
single-purpose and dedicated ship (lends itself to rigging it)

T3:
Quicker to train the skill to 5 (tier 1, rather than tier 4)
Multipurpose hull (especially good for exploring)

Which one is better? It depends on what you're doing. Straight up probing strength though, they're completely equal.

This is pretty much it. I'll add that training covops to 5 also makes for wicked bombers. Depending on whether you've cross-trained, the covops skill can also prove more versatile (allowing for all four scanning frigs rather than a single T3).

^this.

most people use 1 T2 scanning rig on T3s vs. 2 T1 riigs on a covops, making the covops better.
