Question about Scanning

I have located a cosmic signature. I have a single core scanner probe at 2.0 range sitting right on top of it. Signal strength is 24.83%. If I reduce the range of my probe, or move any other probe into range of the signal, it disappears. I don't understand. What is happening here, and what do I do to fix it.

-0.5 space
Base sensor strength 81.8
Base Maximum Deviation 0.0875

Thanks

Check your scanning filters to make sure you're not excluding any specific type of signature (e.g. Gravimetric sites).

25.0 signal strength is the minimum to resolve a signature into a specific type, if its a grav/mag/radar/ladar. If any of those types are filtered out of your display, that would account for it suddenly disappearing when you re-scan with a shorter-range probe.

Check your filters.

Yes it was Gravimetric and it wasn't checked. Thanks guys I was losing my mind for about 20 minutes LOL.

You need three more probes to "triangulate" the source of the signal.
