Hulk + orca vs attack

I got a question, if i get attacked while mining and im next to an orca, can I store the hulk right away after i get attacked or can the orca scoop up the hulk?

Does the attack on the hulk affect it being able to get scooped up or get in the maintenance bay?

From what I understand, yes you can scoop the hulk.

In practice, an alpha strike on your barge will mean you have very little time to react.

After your attackers learn your mode they will adapt and bump your hulk with a warp-in first so be aware there is a large bag of tricks people play with these strategies... A SB is cheaper than a hulk so they might try to grab it after you eject prior to scooping.

Practice your tricks before you put them in your bag!

If you have something in your cargo and you probably have cause you are mining, you cant put your ship into ship maint. bay

Make sure the Orca has the Hulk targetted when ejecting from it

No no no, don't eject from the hulk... store it in the Orca, the hulk will disapear leaving your pod floating in space.
