Bounty Hunting Fix

EDIT: Oh, apparently this has already been suggested, basically word for word.

Seven years ago.

And it still hasn't been implemented.

Sigh.

The amount of a bounty you receive is directly proportional to the damage you cause.

That's it. That's the whole fix.

Example:

You destroy a target with a 10 million isk bounty. His ship is valued at 3 million isk. The total value of the modules that were destroyed in the encounter is 4 million isk. You, the bounty hunter, receive 7 million isk. The target's bounty is now 3 million isk.

To prevent exploitation, you only get paid out for modules and cargo that are actually destroyed. If you pod a person, your payout is determined by the price of the target's clone along with the value of the implants in their skull.

I honestly can not conceive of a simpler, less exploitable fix to bounty hunting. We're already getting killmails which display market value coming in inferno. Surely it can't be hard to apply that to bounty payout.

So why has this not been implemented yet?

Seriously, I want to know.

would QFT, but I hate quoting OP, therefore.

Simple, effecting and no way of exploiting really.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

This would require some standard determination of ship and module values (beyand T1 ship insurance). Other than that, this is a great idea.

You mean like the system they're using to evaluate isk losses for the new killmails in Inferno?

For PvP and like to encourage more of it?

Want to validate a potential Career path in ≡v≡ with new income potential that is ideally designed as simply a transferance of ISK from one pilot to another?

Actually like situations where ships shoot back and "really" improve your KB resume?

You agree that pilots should adapt to challenging situations in ≡v≡ where acceptance of risk is an everyday seperator of those getting ahead on the curve?

Or simply want to make ≡v≡ less boring?

Support: Bounty Hunting for CSM7.

Please join the debate in encouraging CCP with correcting this long overdue broken game feature. The suggestions you have proposed are accomodated in some of the existing proposals (but yes there have been many requests Blink ).

I think all of these "bounty hunting" fixes should be the choice of the person who put the bounty on the guy to begin with.

Like i have said just make bounties contract only and put these options in the contract so the guy who gave the bounty can choose how he wants it to be carried out.

This would help prevent people from going out to be podded by an alt for the bounty, and concord sanctioned shooting rights for bounty hunters on persons with bountiy contracts they have accepted would be another great thing. You could carry the contract in your hold so concord knows you have kill rights.
