Hey so i am in a corp that has multiple POS's a few in one WH. One of the problems is with all the members that we have we dont have access to everything needed yet have security. well problem i am trying to resolve is we want members to be able to run reactions at the pos but not access to other things. so the idea i have heard is to place the POS into a division so we can add the reactions to certain members and have corp hanger array access and have the ability to remove containers from the arrays any thoughts ideas.

You can't run reactions without giving away Config Starbase Equipment (need to be able to online and offline arrays), and you don't want to do that, as it gives full access to every POS (as well as anchor and unanchor).

You can do private POSes by forming an alliance and using an alt corp to manage the reactions. Only members of the alt corp will have access to anything at the POS though. Alliance members can optionally be given access to hide in the forcefield, or do limited remote research, or use a fitting service, but can't access any array.

So no way to create a division for the second pos? So that the people have access to access containers

No. If you can manage reactions, you need full access.

Hence there has been an ongoing call for changes to POSes and role management.

Example: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/July_2011_Prioritization_Crowdsourcing

#2 Corporation and Alliance tool overhaul (CSM)
#3 Overhaul of roles and grantable roles system (CSM)
#12 Modular Starbase (CSM) (includes Funky POS recommendation (CSM))

The Resurrection: The Dead Horse pos thread Comes back to LIFE!! is probably the best known and discussed proposal for POS redesign (see #12 above).

POS divisions also fall under the "Other" access role, which is very broad (includes ship based corp hangars like an Orca).

Other

Rights set for 'Other' will be in effect at all offices the corporation owns that do not fall under either Based At or Headquarters. 'Other' access is also required to view/take items from divisional hangars in starbase structures and capital industrial ship's corporate hangar arrays, in addition to any other roles that may be required for individual structures.

I've heard estimates saying a year at best before they can make some well needed changes to POS management. I wouldn't be surprised to wait far longer.

Lets just hope its not "bounty hunter fix" long. Sad

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

I fully agree !

The current pos structure and role system does have its flaws.
2 corp hangars, but you cant change names. Or access.
Only corp use or config starbase. ( and we dont like that role )

Ranges.
Stored ore, and a manufacturing structure has to be in range.
Meaning a large indy pos has to have all the relevant structures quite close to eachother.
Making it look more clutterd than futuristic.

I support this idea.

"junk floating in space freely" is somewhat, what I dislike too.
Flying from lab to lab because you're out of range is plain stupid, I would prefer one docking spot and one interface to the entire POS.

Corp Hangar Arrays.
Lets suppose you live in a WH.
The corp Has A pos out there. It has 30 active members.
The only way to store personal stuff is anchoring containers.
Same idea with ships. All ships are stored in the same hangar.
Yess im aware that you can grant acess or not to that hangar. But that does not take away the unified storage.
And the reason why stuff gets lost.
Beacause there is no way to actually audit a structure like that ( who took what )

So what i would like to see is..
- one unified structure, and modules you could fit on there ( like labs etc )
- Access roles on member base and not one allround role.
- Storage / docking for members ( ie, having their own space for ships and modules)
- Renaming structures like "Corp Hangar"
( dump the loot in the corp hangar. err which one? Err the one one the top next to the lab)
