Hi I never picked up on science and industry and now a bit interested in it. I got a question that's hard to find an answer to. What are the main skills towered recycling stuff in order to get mins and is it better to have a tower to do it at 100% or have high standings with a faction and use there stations?

There are two ways to get 100% yield on reprocessing:

1. NPC station with 50% Reprocessing Facilities + 6.67 standing with the station owner + Refining 5 + Refinery Efficiency 5 + Zainou 'Beancounter' Refining RX-802 Implant (2%)

2. NPC station with 50% Reprocessing Facilities + 6.67 standing with the station owner + Refining 5 + Refinery Efficiency 5 + Metallurgy 5 + Scrap Metal Processing 1

Option 1 allows you to reprocess anything without additional skills, though it does waste a implant slot.

Option 2 allows you to reprocess anything by training level 1 material skills, which you will already have all the prerequisites (ice processing is the exception as it also requires Science 5 + Hydromagnetics 4).

that's for doing it in station I'm guessing. Can I avoid the need for standings by having my own POS? and with Refining 5 + Refinery Efficiency 5 + Metallurgy 5 + Scrap Metal Processing 5?

No.

You can't reprocess at a POS, only refine ore and drone alloys, max yield 75%. However you can do ice at 100%.

The only exception to standing would be an upgraded Minmatar outpost, but then the owners are likely to charge an unavoidable refining tax anyways.
