Well, it seems the upcoming expansion is coming out in 20 days. With large speculations suggesting there is going to be a huge drone nerf that turns alloys into bounties now could be the last time to buy up before the final price spike. Though with reward comes risk and if the nerf does not go through expect a loss of 53% if you are buying at todays rate of 1500. But alas there is still room for grand profit, the price is estimated to increase to 4000isk per unit so for those daring it can still make a great investment.

I just logged out of test server, in the drone regions and drones are still dropping drone poo. If they go through with this, the short term impact is going to be massive. I hit one spawn with 2 BS and 3 cruisers and I couldn't even carry all the stuff they dropped. I took what was in the Battleships and headed back to low sec, just to see what the reproc was. 5 minutes work and I had 270 Zydrine, 30 Morphite, 50 Megacyte, 240 Noxcium, 250K trit.

This adjustment will be felt like a bloody earth quake. I don't need to speculate or play doom and gloom. If that 5 minute test is a sample of what Drone regions did for mineral baskets in EVE? We are in for one hell of a ride.

Soundwave says in his Ten Ton Hammer interview that currently at least 40% of all high end minerals are generated in the Drone Regions.

Do with that info what you will.
Personally, I would love to see CCP build a cyno capable miner so miners can ninja in and out of null sec belts.
I am thinking it will take time, quite a bit of time in fact, but null sec alliances will start putting more emphasis on mining high end ores.

I've noticed in the past few hours after that was posted, selling is around 1850 and buyers in the 1750's.

Well, its official. Now we must wait and see when the price climax is reached.

The price increase should be exponentially higher than before due to there not being totally solid evidence that the nerf would take place making it a high risk investment once speculation drove prices to around 1k/u. However, now that it is a secure investment people will flock to buy as much high ends as they can. This kind of event is a self fulfilling prophecy where people go to flock the market to make fast money and this flock will in turn drive prices up due to wanting to get the goods as fast as possible.

tl;dr we who invested in the early stages are going to get rather wealthy.
