Seems that iv been hearing from a few of my miners that thier rat tanks are having problems keeping the rats on them, i personally just saw a few cruisers switch from my tank which had full agro to my hulk. Warped out and back again with the hulk but they switched again. Nothing in the patch notes about this, is it a bug? Is anyone else seeing this?

Belt rats have always been liable to switch targets (they certainly did this in 2006). My experience was that the smaller the rat, the more likely it was to retarget.

Are the rat tanks sitting still after gaining aggression? Or are they flying off into the sunset? Rats will not mindlessly follow someone - if the rat tank flies too far away from the rat's spawn point, the rats will reset and target someone else.

Spawn mechanics were changed. Perhaps this is what you are seeing.

Was one of the rats a rat miner/hauler? Sometimes those groups will jump around a belt and when they spawn, they lock whatever is close.

Well i had picked them up after the spawn and then set the soaker to orbit a roid near where the hulk was mining, that was some 60 km away from the spawn, I guess ill just leave the soaker where he is when they get agro. Its just a first time iv seen this in 4 months.

I guess each rat has it's own boredom level, getting tired of being away from it's spawn point, so goes back to it and finds a new target.

In my experience, the tank stays at the same spot (or orbits a roid at the spawn point) and the rats stay on the tank. I've run hundreds of ops over the years this way, and not had the rats change target.

Rats will change targets, but it's a very rare random occurence. It's happen to me only a couple of times in 2.5 yeasr but its a miniscule chance. Correct on the fact that if the tank wanders too far from the belt - rats will reset though.
