For those who haven't had a chance to see, I thought I would repost this little gem. :) This is a pretty interesting video to listen to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SKC00a0ovTA#t=0s

ESPECIALLY this part, where Mittani tells the name of his talk and what it will be about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SKC00a0ovTA#t=413s

"The theme of this year's Goonswarm Alliance Presentation is going to be 'Goonswarm Hates you'. And basically just talk about each different little aspect... demographic of EVE. Of how much we hate and want people to die and kill themselves. Like, highsec miners: We want them to kill themselves. People who roleplay? We want them to kill themselves. People with Titans? We want them to kill themselves. There's just a whole host of people who I hope to really offend by telling them to commit suicide while on stage in front of a thousand nerds."

Dead horse, but new material. I for one am glad it was posted. :)

But really I was just posting to give props to your character name.

with the vid shown taking place before fanfest and with a dev taking part it is clear then this matter needs a internal investigated.
being planed ahead of time removes mittans (i was drunk #) excuse.
soundwave had prier knowledge what mittans was going to say and with that he had a duty to foreword the information to ccp.
but with soundwave being goons t20 guy at ccp its plain and clear that ccp is being lead down a track they have experience with.

After listening to the interview, no where in it does The Mittani even hint that he intended to disclose the miner's character name and encourage people to harass him to see if they could push him over the edge to suicide. This was the step over the line action Mittani got the ban for.

Its clear that Mittens intended to dance right up to the line. He did so and misstepped.

While the whole "kill yourself" meme is rude, its part of the "internet jerk" one upsmanship and bandied about frequently. Maybe it shouldn't be, but so far that's been considered acceptable speech within eve. I don't use it and find it detestable, but if we started banning for that we'd have a lot of work to do. (I admit that I am liking the "thrill yourself" and "skill yourself" replacements people are using these days. Makes me chuckle.)

So those who say this proves that Mittani's slip was premeditated are overstating their case.

See my comment above.

I don't think Soundwave should face any reprisals for this, in fact I think that anyone that would call for such a thing based on the current evidence shows there is a bit of a witch-hunt mentality growing.

Time to move on, unless someone can show something that truly changes the facts as we know them.

Yeah this bothers me as a player. Something that needs to be looked at.

Stop misusing the term witch hunt. What Alex did to Massively was a witch hunt. Him having to facing the music for reprehensible actions as a human is not.

WOW

just WOW....

Some how I knew this went deeper and I was right AGAIN...

Clearly he wants people to be so upset they kill themselves... and his goonies just follow along...

This is past sick, past what should be allowed in a game....

THIS IS WRONG.

Except I was talking about the call for an internal investigation of a CCP employee (Soundwave) having heard what Mittens said on that old video, which is garbage and seems like a witch hunt to me.

The fact that you are twisting my words and trying to make out like I said something I didn't, shows how bad things are.

Personally not a defender of the Mittani nor agree with attacks on Massively, I just don't think this call to "widen the net" is in anyway justified.

more like being wrong LOL

if he had said at fanfest what he said in that interview, it would have just been really dumb and edgy but ultimately nothing worth a "cyber-bullying" accusation (what the **** is cyber-bullying) or a ban, removal from the CSM or anything of the sort
