The bustard could also be substituted for the Badger 2, which is simply the T1 variant.

Actually, Bustard is a unique long hull not shared with the T1s

Unlike other T2 upgrade hulls that reuse same tier. Caldari bumps up to the next tier.
Badger to Crane: Crane Uses Badger II hull
Badger II to Bustard: Uses what could be described as a Badger III hull.

I was curious cause it looks like a longer Badger Mk II.

Also confirming that I want to fly those in the future

This ^

It's a Bustard. 4 serial.

Also, if you are just kickin' around empire and want to see more variations of player ships, take a look at the haulers in the neutral NPC convoys that are around NPC stations. You might be surprised at how many interesting variations CCP has already conceived of these transports. There's a ton of mutant iterons out there Big smile

This is on my list for Team Papercuts. I'd love to see more NPC traffic at the stations, gates, etc. I want to get more of a feel for the ships that exist in our small corner of space.

The bustard is over rated. Its big and slow, and its not actually that good at being the "Blockade Runner" that it's rolled as. In fact it is so big and slow, that you will undoubtedly be targeted by a BS faster than you can warp away, giving all ship sizes a shot at you. So, that being said, If you run into a gate camp that has 3+ ships with scrams/disrupts you will need all your lows filled with warp stabs to counter all the points on you. As well as all the rig slots filled with low friction nozzle joints.

By the time you do all of that, you will come out with a non-cloaky T2 hauler that will probably still die onyour first trip and you wont be able to carry much more than the crane. Not enough to make it worth your while anyway.

If you actually need a blockade runner, the Crane or Viator are the best options.

If you are not going to be hauling goods during a time of war or through low/null then there is actually no need to even invest in a T2 hauler, since you can haul MORE in the T1's and if you need more space, you should be looking at a frieghter or an Orca.

I do not disagree with your reasoning. However I do want to collect ships and it being a unique hull that not everyone will fly fits that for me.

Since you collect, use this in game for proper links. http://gogela.com/eve/
Mind you many are NPC or CCP only.

Actually it's not really classed as (in the roll of) a blockade runner. It's roll is "transport" technically. All the transport rolled ships have tough armor and shields. As a solo pirate it's important to have all damage types available so you can kill these things before they get back to the gate. I've lost several due to insufficient damage on my part or not fitting a web. As a ship, I never really use them. A freighter has much higher HP. The only purpose I can see for transports is AFK autopilot in empire. It's suicide in lowsec to fly them. If I'm in a HIC all the stabs in lows don't help. Prorater - Viator - Crane - Prowler <-- I won't even bother trying to kill these in low sec. You can't catch them.
