So I've been searching around abit, and looking for a Drone boat or what they are called for exploration. Vexor, Arbitor and myrmidon. But why doesent minmatar have one? A good explorationship for us is like the Loki, but that takes alot more training. Or have I missed something? Anyway some recommendations would help alot, and tell me I dont have to train for the vexor. Thx

Minmatar tend to rely primarily on Projectiles as a primary weapon, Missiles as a secondary weapon and drones as a tertiary, so no they have no dedicated drone boats

You don't need a drone boat for exploration.

The Probe has bonuses for, well, probing (and a 10m^3 drone bay!)

If you want a "do-it-all" probe ship and are determined to stick with Minmatar for RP reasons you could do worse than a Bellicose or Cyclone, but you won't get the efficiency you would with a more specialized ship.

Then give me a suggestion for a exploration ship except the Loki, or a skill list needed for the vexor :P

Without going Loki (which you said was too much training) I can't think of anything Matari other than a Cane.

I cross-trained Gallente for the Ishtar for lowsec exploration myself, but that doesn't help your "too much training time" problem :(

(Also cross-trained for the Mach, but that's another story ;))

For lowsec, I'm not really sure off-hand. A Cane should be able to do ok, depending on the fit and the area you're in, but it's still not amazing. I've also used a Wolf for highsec exploration with great succes.

Well, the ships you mentioned can't really do combat plexes (Vexor? Arbitrator? I think not. Myrm -- maybe....) so I'm going to go ahead and assume you're only looking at mags/radars. So yeah, I think either a Cyclone or a Hurricane should be entirely workable. Cyclone probably wins out a bit with the excess mids. Maybe something like:

In addition to above.

The nice thing about low sec is that you have stations there. You don't need to fit codebreaker and analyzer, just carry them in ship hold. When you find the site, fit the appropriate module. This way you can beef up Cyclone shield tank.

Also Cyclone has drone bay, use it.

Because Minmatar is the "we don't do drones" faction on the Gallente/Minmatar side of space. They're just slightly better of than Caldari ("we don't do drones and we want to suck at using them"), who fill that role on the Amarr/Caldari side.

So, for drones:

Gallente >>> Amarr >> Minmatar > Caldari

Also, both Caldari (missiles) and Minmatar (projectiles) get a good damage type selection with other weapon systems, while Gallente and Amarr have a pretty much fixed damage type and only get some variety from drones.

Cyclone has fitting issues... You'll have to go AC which sucks for exploration as you're burning to targets non stop... Some of the spawns are far apart.

Always get a probe account and combat acct.

While it's far from ideal, if you want to look at a cruiser, look at the Bellicose. 40m3 of drone bay, and 40 bandwidth.

While above is not wrong, I do not suggest following that advice. Here is why:
1) If you pull belli, stabber and rupture info side by side, you will discover that belli has the least amount of shield and armor.
2) Belli has only 5 high slots while stabber and rupture have 6. Once you fit cloak+probe launcher+salvager, you get left with 2 slots for weapons. Is that really what you want? 2 weapon slots? Ok, so maybe drones can offset that... Maybe not.

Like most people in this thread, I suggest battlecruiser. Lots of slots for guns, lots of slots for tank, and you can fit your exploration mods.
