So I'm looking at getting in to PI. So I guess my question is, is there a limit to how many people can be gathering resources from a single planet?

not really

but the amount of minerals you can gather will decrease if a certain cap of actively extracting characters has been met, both on a specific hotspot and on the planet in general

that cap differs from planet to planet, wormhole planets are better than null, low and high sec planets (in that order)

ok, is there anyway to see how many are using a planet already? I am working on reading through this guide. url=http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Planetary_Interaction#Required_skills]PI guide[/url]

Are there any other guides people would recommend so I can try to figure out what I am doing?

As I really hate reading, I went to You Tube. There are a lot of great videos and tutorials on there. So if you are a visual learner like me, check them out. Just search for EvE PI, and sort by date. Good luck!

rightclick on planet in planetmode -> show other players installations

this however wont show you wether those installations are active or not

the best way to see wether a planet is overused or not is to actually use it

i currently run PI on 3 toons with 5 planets each, and i have no problem at all to keep extracting 6000 units of P0 products per hour and extractorhead over the last 2 weeks

that way my 2x3 extractorheads can support 2x3 base processors and 3 advanced processors on full capacity on my planets and i have enough powergrid left for linking everything together, i could not achieve that if the planets were overused

Helps if you put it onto the resource scanner and adjust it till the whole planet is white. Makes the CCs show up better.

Click on them to see the network (except extractor heads)

Woo! CSM XI!
