Skills to get when not really playing the game?

Lately I've been busy with real life and haven't been playing much - but I would like to keep up the skilling so I can be more useful when I get back to playing!

This character was mainly designed to be some sort of long range Rokh sniper back in the day, but then also got side tracked to be doing some covert ops with the Manticore and Buzzard.

But now, I recently have been trying to make this character a better Battleship pilot (like, one that is actually useful for fleet battles). Therefore I have changed race from Caldari to Amarr/Gallente skills (well, I haven't really decided which one yet...so any comments?).

So I've been doing some skilling to get armor tanking (but I'm not sure which turrent to go for as I'm not sure which race is better for BS PVP).

However, if there are also any major flaws in the character - I can now get the chance to skill it. Like any rather boring/support skills that will prove useful (hence why I did most of my navigation skills...I couldn't think of anything proper to skill at the time so I just went for that).

Don't forget to Remap if you have the option. Also a Jump Clone with +4/+5's would be a good idea.

I myself have been on a "vacation" / medical leave for going on 5 months, but have kept a skill in queue the entire time. I did the above mentioned actions.

If you already have caldari it would be smart to train hybrids as they will work for what you already have plus gallente.

If you end up cross training them you can also grab gurista ships and use any missle/shield skills you already have.
(( Cheapest cross faction ships can be a nice thing for pvp ))

Hard to go wrong with drones as almost all ships use them for atleast some kind of secondary dps.

In gunnery, it is the SUPORT skills that really help your guns. Do them all to V.

Also, skills that may help any race will include BC V, Mechanics skills, Drones, Engineering.

When I am gone for long periods, I like to inject long skills. When I am active every day, I like to micro-manage short skills more.

Right now, the Pulse Abaddon and the Arty Maelstrom are probably the two most flown battleships for fleet engagements.

So if your looking to fill your skill queue, you probably couldn't go wrong training Amaar BS and/or Minmatar BS to V. And with that you will want to train for their respective t2 large turrets. Add in AWU to V and the rest of your Gunnery Support skills to V and your looking at quite a bit of training time.

this one.

Basically there are two major alliances at the moment, one fighting with armor abaddons, drakes and caps the other playing with shield maelstroms, drakes and canes.

So basically if u want to specialise in big 0.0 blob fights you should be looking into Abaddon,Maelstrom and Drake,Hurricane from the bc tree.

try get large t2 guns before going for lvl 5 on the bs, and get the bc skill at least at 4.

Another option that i personally could suggest , would be to train for an interdictor or a recon(minmattar/gallente) and join pretty much every fleet around the board, while also being able to join small scale gangs

I think you'll be more happy with speccing for amarr in the long run.

All your armor comp skills to lvl V

Logistics V

Amarr bs V

and your on your glory way to become a triage carrier pilot (besides a few minor skills)
