How do I buy items with LP

I was told you can buy some items with LP, can you? also if you buy them can you then sell them on for isk

Dock at a station owned by the faction that you have LP for

Look for the Station Icon of the Officer with his hand over his heart with a wreathe of stars on either side. Click this to open the LP store. Set filters or browse at your liesure.

You can sell everything from the LP store you can buy with LP if you want. The question remains which one?
