Why does EA Help need the product keys for games already registered to my account?

Yeah, not handing my games to some guy in china/india/whereveristan.

Seriously, it sucks.

If I hadn't strongly suspected it was actually some kind of bot I was talking to I would have trolled him for a while, but all I wanted to do was figure out why Dragon Age: Origins wasn't appearing in my list of downloadable games in that POS Origin thing EA are trying to use to ape Steam, and all he wanted was my product keys.

Anyone else run into this kind of crap? And yes, I KNOW, EA yadda yadda, but still...

EA/Origin games, just pirate them. No money to EA, no DRM, no Origin and the games are **** anyway.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

I bought Dragon Age when it came out, and awakening when it launched too. I was new to actually purchasing new games, and didn't know any better I swear!

Games previously for me usually had CD keys but they were offline validation ones, or for Steam.

Why are Valve somehow trustworthy and rarely screw up, but EA manage it EVERY SINGLE TIME.

And for the record, pirating games is bad mm'kay. *Hides the eyepatch*

That one is easy to answer: Valve isn't a corporate entity rules by managers, they base their decisions and choices on how interesting, funky or amazing something is.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Solution! Went home (been staying with the GF for the Easter break), dug out my box of games, found my DAorigins and awakenings boxes, took them back to the GF's, and am now installing them from the DVD's.

Online downloaders clearly only work properly if made by valve and I will not be using EA/Origin again if I can avoid it.
