The HOLEYHULK would be like a nerfed hulk capable of using cov ops cloak and be able to go through black ops portals. Relative newer players could look forward to mining the highest end ores while just needing to be careful. Cranes could come along to provide movement of ore. Would this destabilize the big 0.0 alliances i wonder. I can imagaine this would make mining explode in eve and probably over the long run bring down the prices of everythhing. Too radical an idea (queestion mark)Shocked

Last year the average price for an abbadon was about 120-130 mill. Now its well over 200. Something needs to change.

The large alliances own you all at the moment. This could change that. Change eve for the better. Not some moronic drunken fanfest request (change logi rules)

Oh my Gosh.

That would definately change things. Prices have become rediculous and we are owned by high innactive mega alliances. Its not fair. This would be a great idea. I will quit if they add an non dock/jump aggression timer to logistic ships

That is an extremely valid point. We need good ideas in Eve ...Not ideas that will make it fail. I still miss Star wars galaxies because of that one silly decision. BRING THE HOLEYHULK to save ccp, it will make more accessible to everyone. Only the mega alliance heads will gnash their teeth im sure. An agression counter for logi???! what are they thinking. theyll lose a large percentage of their profits overnight. omg
If that happens ill play something else. (logi changes)

This is a brilliant post. I would really like a revenue loss projection from ccp for giving logistic ships dock/jumnp aggression counters. Do you think the many people who love their 'modern day' RR wont rebel and just quit for other games? The holeyhulk is a great idea btw

Now im hearing some bs about more goon terrorism in hi sec....The blue ice thing was a failure. But do we need to lose assets to people who make huge profits because what is available to them. I held a rarity 16 reaction for a while. Good isk. Then Ushra kahn came in the system and did the old `monkey-see-monkey-do` and stole it from me. I got good revenge however and they fear me to this day.
I`m just trying to put things in perspective. The solo or small gang experience in eve will not make much isk unless doing coordinated suicide ganks. This hurts everyone.
Dont be scared of goons..they are a failure. They just have good PR

ok dust 514. I`m not an fps player so good luck with that one ccp. Itll have to be a really good fps to catch on and get a following.
Its a big gamble to think that people who play a spaceship mmo want to play an fps. This doesnt make sense.
plus i dont have a ps3 or plans to get one. Multiple platforms mightve been an idea

What? Why would this destabilize anything? Why would anyone want to mine in something that gives less then a hulk when mining in blue space is really quite safe? (Unless your alliance sucks)
And if you want this for mining in highsec you are dumb and should quit eve.

So that a small corp that stands no chance at settling in nullsec can ninja out there missing out the gates by using a black ops bridge, ninja a bunch of ore and ninja back out again.

Whilst I love the idea, OP, I do wonder if you've ever actually done any mining or used a black ops. What are you going to do with the ore? A cov ops hauler doesn't hold much and trying to use any stations when you're ninjaing in someone else's space is tricky at best. Taking the ore back with each load is going to be time consuming and take a fair bit of pos fuel. The black ops doesn't bridge very far.

Mind you, for someone who has 3 or 4 characters this could potentially be a way of ninja mining from enemy space located close to your own or where the nullsec is close to high sec, I suppose.

Ok... you use your fancy blacks ops ships to get your cov ops mining ship and a couple cranes out to the disired area. Mine and fill up the cranes. Send a cov ops with ur to scout ahead on the way home if ur extra paranoid. Avoid large hi/low borders. Voila.
Its a little effort. but 10k m3's or arkanor will make u feel better im sure

Assuming this isn't a troll:

Regular Arkonor has a current mineral value of 444 isk/m^3 vs the best highsec ore worth 200 isk/m^3.

A hulk with a maxed Orca booster will pull 2761 m^3 per minute, dropping to a tengu booster lowers it to 2598, a player with only a mindlink and no command links is 1868

Starting from the baseline of a max yield hulk and no command links, you will fill a max cargo (t1 rigs) covops transport in under 6 minutes, which means that running a mining op will require near regular jumping of the hauler, so you will need a black ops constantly portaling and jumping back and forth with the haulers between two cynos. So you need 5 accounts minimum, and for every extra hulk you add you will basically need another covops transport. Lets say you have 11 people, 4 hulks, 4 haulers, 2 cyno and a black ops BS, you would pull 200m per hour mining only Arkonor, or 18m per hour per character (Not counting jump expenses, and assuming you could find a station to dock within blackops bridge range). Even if you jumped in a T3 with mining links, you make almost as much as highsec, but its still less. If instead you used 9 Hulks and 2 Orca (1 booster, 1 hauler) in highsec, you would pull 300m per hour, or 27m per hour per character on the most valuable regular highsec ore. That doesn't even consider the risks of ninja mining 0.0, or the time spent hidding from scouts/gangs. It just does not make economic sense.

And all that assumes a covops hulk can mine as much as a regular one, which would be unlikely.
