I just logged in after being away for over a year. After looking over my skills, items, and ships I have no clue what I was working on when I last played.

Based on my current skills, what would you guys suggest I skill up next? I am looking to run some missions for a bit to get some isk since I am broke, but after that I would like to jump into pvp and be as effective as possible. I don't really mind being a frigate pilot for a bit, but would really like to get to battlecruiser status asap. Then some time down the road, fly some battleships. I plan on sticking with EVE for a long time to come this time around, so waiting for the skills to fly those more expensive ships isn't a problem.

So, what do you guys suggest for someone in my position?

With Minmatar cruiser 5 I would say a nice longterm goal would be the Vagabond which is great fun for PvP, however before then I would say join RvB and get good at flying a Rifter. Your support skills will need a lot of work before you even consider moving up to bigger ships. Look up the various certificates in EVEMon for a good hint of what skills you have missed to inject and train.

whatever you do, be it pve or pvp, you need good support skills, bring em to 4 first then the main ones to 5

suport skills give you more powergrid, more cpu, more shield, more armor, more cap, better speed, better agility, lower warpin time, etc etc.

when you re done , train weapon support skills to 4

that should take you at least 2 months, when you re done, go for tech 2 missiles or guns and train for tech2 frig /cruiser

another note, stop training BC5 before you re done with support skills, its more important to get support skills to 4/5 than BC 5 with bad support skills

Thanks for the tips guys. I will keep working on support skills, as suggested. Any more opinions on making isk while those train?

you could do missions, while its not exciting after a while, at least you will get some isk while running lvl 3 and some faction with one of the empire race.

To run lvl 4 decently , I would advise you to run then in a BS, but then again you will need decent support skills to pilot and fit a BS correctly. Depending on teh faction you want to run mission for, some racial BS are better than others, in doubt, you can always use a raven, not very original but it get the job done.

there might be some other options. but mission is the first that comes to my mind with your skills atm.

PS : You can also join a null or low sec "relatively new player friendly" corp and particiapate in pvp ops and do pve while not in ops. But then again, i would advise you to get those supportt skills to 4 at least in your interest. that would be much easier for you to find a corp if they see you can be usefull to them in some way.

good luck !

So I have been training up support skills for the past week. I am still working on it, but I was just wondering if you guys can take a look and see if there is anything I have missed completely. My goal is to get into a Drake and do level 3s then 4s once I am able to skill and isk-wise.

Any further direction in what to train in what order would be appreciated. Thanks.

in missiles, you need the following skills

Guided missiles precision
Missiles projection
rapid launch
warhead upgrades

train those to 4

in drones

finish training for T2 drones ( scout drones op ) et get drones support skill to3 ( combat drones ops, drones interfacing , durability, sharpshooting ) and train Gallente drones spec to 2/3 , that will unlock Hobgoblin 2

With these drones skils, you will take care of frigs in any mission pretty fast and be able to focus on cruiser/BC npc with missiles

[b]in gunnery[/b

You will want to have Advanced Weapon upgrade to 3 at least, 4 would be better but to unlock AWU, you need to have Weapon upgrade to 5

Its very worth the 8/9 days invested in the long run because it reduces the powergrid and CPU needed to fit ANY guns or missiles so if i was you i would bite the bullet and ttrain AWU to 4

Otherwise you re pretty good to go, once you re done with these, I would suggest to train

Electronics to 5
Engineering to 5
Shield Operation to 5
Spaceship Command to 5
Energy system operation to 5

They re all rank 1 skills and should take around 3/4 days each depending on your attribute

When you're done, you can either choose to run lvl4 in BS or T3 cruiser

for BS, i would suggest the Raven, train Caldari BS to 4 and Cruise missiles to 4

The good thing is that you will have already decent support skills, whcih is very important for BS

If you choose the T3 cruiser way after a while when you have enough money running lvl 4 with the Raven

Heavy Missiles to 5 and heavy missiles spec to
Shield Management to 5
Energy Management to 5
Caldari cruiser to 5

you will need all the cladari subsystem to 4 with offensive and defensive to 5
To get the most of a T3, you will need good support skills and missiles skills, ideally, you will want missiles bombardment rapid fire , and target nav prediction to 5

If later on, you choose to join a pvp corp, you will have very decent skills to be usefull to them, be it in a caldri HAC, recon or logistics.

Ordinarily yes, but with the likely upcoming introduction of racial BC and Destroyers skills I'd get these up to 5 asap

Implants bro - get some, even +3's will shave days/weeks off a long term skill plan
