Ratting sec status

What is the best way to rat up a sec status? I've heard something about;

Kill the largest ship in a system. Preferably a BS. Leave for a new system and kill that. And then wait 15 minutes before heading back to the previous system?

if you're hisec missionrunner or something, then belt ratting in lowsec. just kill everything. they will spawn anyway and you'll make some isk ;) maybe you'll find a dread/shadow/whatever spawn. just keep an eye on directional, make some safespots. preferably lowsec system with many stations, so noone is gonna look for you if you'll cloak/dock

I'm not looking to rate for isk. I just want to rat for sec status as efficiently as possible.

Kwong I don't know who you've been talking to, but it's all dependent on the number of rats you kill. Most people find a deserted system and go belt to belt and kill the rats. Then break out the probes and find any combat sites to kill rats. Then check the belts for respawn. Then try the next system.

AFAIK you get sec status gain from the highest bounty rat you killed every 15min or so. The timer is tied to the system in which you killed the rat, i.e. if you move to a next system and kill another rat yoy get sec status gain for that rat after 15min.

So this means that if you rat in one system it doesnt matter how many rats you kill, you will only get one sec status gain per timer. If you rat in two systems, you get two. If you rat in three systems you get three and so on.

This is why people tell you to kill a BS rat and move to the next system. Find four-five low sec systems where you can go around in circles and you can rat up your sec status pretty quickly. Stealth bomber is very good for this, and if course you'd get more BS rats from null sec belts (this is normally my choice)

Sec status boosts happends every tick (15 or 20 minutes, I dont remember) and every system, and depends of the "biggest" (afaik, every rat have a "sec status" stat on him) rat you killed there.
If you stay in one system, you'll get 1 increase every 20 minutes, and that increase will be equal to the highest rat you killed.
If you circle around 4-5 systems, killing only one battleship in each, you get 4-5 increase every 20 minutes.

The best way is to find a cycle you will do in +/- 20 minutes, killing one BS in every system.

Best way i see it now, is joining an incursion fleet.

If you cant enter high sec find a cluster of 0.1 systems.

Go to system 1 find a BS and only kill the BS leave the supporting ships. Mark that belt and go to system 2 do the same find a BS and only kill the BS.

You do this in different systems until 20 min have past and never in the same system.

After 20 min, you start in system 1 war to belt, and BS should have spawned again. If your unlucky the "Fleet" might have warpped to another belt, but the BS will be in system. Kill the BS only, next system same all over.

This. Only addition i would give is use a harpy and goto losec gallente, excellent at popping the bs rats while being fast enough to gtfo of a belt or past camps

This skill is very effective if your security standing is below 0.

Fast Talk - Skill at interacting with Concord. 5 percent Bonus to effective security rating increase.

A 5 percent increase per level means that a level 5 trained account will give 25 percent more increase per 15-minute NPC-killing time than a level 0 trained account.

Is it possible to blitz lvl 4 missions in hi-sec using this method? Do 1 mission from an agent, blitz, move onto the closest alternative lvl 4 agent, blitz, move onto another close agent, blitz etc.

Kaivar

I have boosted a -4 sec status to a positive sec status several times using missions. The following points are observations based on my experiences doing this. Most recently several months ago, this could have changed in the mean time though.

* There is a separate timer per faction, per system. This means that if you have several combat agents in a 0.5 system you could pull say a blood mission and a sansha mission, warp in, kill a blood BS go to the sansha mission, kill a BS, rinse and repeat using the 15 minute timer. Though the sec status of the system only really matters in terms what systems you can enter without getting shot at.

* I've noticed that the timer isn't exactly 15 minutes and can vary from 10 - 20 mins.

* Some missions do not give sec increases, in particular, Drones, Mercs, EoM (Gone Berserk)

* Some missions that a mission runner would say are rubbish are actually quite good for sec increases, Guristas Spies for example, where you can get 5 - 6 sec status increases if you kill a BS, warp out, wait for the sec status to update (keep checking char sheet). Recon part1 is another good one.

* Ideally you would want to get multiple missions and keep them open, Angel Extra in one system, Gurista Spies in the same system or another, and so on.
