Curious but from a sort of DEV post, has anyone else tried turning Anti Aliasing Off for the time being?

After doing that at least my game doesn't seem to be degrading into a crash (as far as I have played last night).

I think CCP is having a tough time getting HDR + AA to work together nicely but they are trying their best. It has been a tricky venture for a lot of game designers.

May just have to bite the bullet and upgrade the engine to DX11 ;)

Mine starts to flicker in different parts of the screen, and this goes on for a while, flickering more and more until it finally crashes, sending me eventually to a BSOD or a freeze that locks my computer up. Very annoying. Almost lost a ship last night to it, when i came back the shields were regenning, armor was red and structure was about ten ticks away from destruction. Eeek!

I dunno what to do, and i just paid my next month too *sadface*

Did you try turning off Anti Aliasing? Sounds like the degrading issue a lot of people are having (including myself) at the moment.

Turning AA off seemed to keep it from happening last night so we will see.

My Display Driver crashed twice in less than 2 hour tonight right after I got the new patch.
Blue Screen of Death each time.
I have to say, now EVE is unplayable.

Since March 13th, my display freezes on my PC, requiring a hard reset of the computer. This has only occurred while playing EVE. I've tried upgrading my video drivers and testing my RAM with memtest, with no luck. Neither HDR or AA are enabled. This happens once or twice each night over a few hours.

Current info:
WIndows XP
Only 1 EVE client running, windowed mode
NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT, driver version 296.10

Checked, mine is on 'Disabled' in-game unless there is something else I need to do or am missing.

For those getting BSOD, are you running Vista/7, or XP/2000?

I ask, as I think it's still the video driver crashing (Vista and 7 can actually recover from this, but I don't think XP/2000 had this ability).

I know that I was using AA and HDR when my issues started, however since the last patch I've been fine, still using AA and HDR.

This also begs the question (at least for those tech-nerds of us out here) CCP - What was changed that could have resolved this issue (at least for some of us) in the patch? I saw no reference to this issue in the patch notes, and I'm fearful that the issue is still lurking, waiting to get me killed.

I wish Windows would generate more useful error reports so we can give CCP useful information to permanently fix this for everyone.

A BSOD is more than likely a true Driver issue than an EVE game issue. Usually if you have a EVE related graphics issue, the game performance may get wonky, the graphics may break, or the game will crash with an error, but a BSOD is usually hardware/driver related unless something is really wrong with the game.

Since turning off AA the game hasn't had a degrading graphics/studder issue, but it still has broken Physx for CQ.

If those of you with BSOD issues would like to try. I would reccomend using HWinfo (BIng/Google it) to check your temps.

The main ones we want to see here is GPU, and if you are on older chips such as a Core 2, Northbridge temp.

Also RAM voltage may also be useful to see just for added data.

Lastly I would reccomend everyone with BSOD issues, to uninstall all video drivers (through the Uninstall Programs in Control Panel) Then run a Driver cleaner on the drivers (twice to make sure). Followed by installing the latest drivers.

Also remember that when doing the driver clean, The process is best to run the driver uninstall, DO NOT REBOOT YET, Driver Sweep, then reboot, then run driver sweep again to make sure nothing Auto came back, then reboot again and reinstall newest drivers.

I had a nasty issue with some older Nvidia drivers that caused issues for me a lot until I did a good sweep and reinstall which cleared out 90% of my issue (the other 10% was Northbridge Heat which made sense for how hard I push it and what is in my case. A new Case + Spotcool helped a ton)

Fishmaskle, that was a great write-up on things to try. I've saved your post for my non-eve related use too :-)

I get crashes only when starting a 2nd client and it only crashes when the useless splash screen is being displayed (station and ships flying). Both clients are in windowed mode with v-sync on... don't want my videocard melting. After I somehow log in with 2 accounts they don't crash.

Undocking, jumping through gates it now takes a small eternity to load ships. When launching the game, it takes a lot longer for the client to load as well as the splash screen than it did previously. I had crashes after installing driver 296.10 and am currently running a clean install of 295.73. I've also tried a clean install of 285.62. My biggest problem with this patch is the absurd heat I'm getting now. Launching a single client is far hotter than my previous peak running four clients. I haven't changed any settings, I've never run AA and all four clients are bare minimum. (not that they need to be)

What has changed in the client that it can rival a twenty minute stress test at crazy settings? One client at the bare minimum settings, mind you. I've been in contact with EVGA, tested my card, there's nothing wrong with it. Clean OS, fresh clients, all drivers up to date.

so, tried new drivers, even that didn't help.

So far its running with out any problems when i stick it one clinet.
As soon i booting up a next client (same folder) i have a ~25% chance getting a BSOD, same for 3th client

the BSOD's (ati3duag.dll) appear around the time the showing the login screen (black screen, wait a few sec then BSOD)

Issue has cropped up again. I found a slight way to recover from the crashing of my driver, but it's not something I'd even call a work-around . . .

Basically I end-task on eve the second I see my monitors flickering. I keep doing this until the game launches without issue. It truly seems random as for when I am hit with the bug, which is vexing me greatly. Evil

I've attempted to launch the client 10 times in a row now, each resulting in the flickering/crashing driver

Ran repair tool, no improvement

Ran client in Safe Mode - success

I'll begin trying to find what option is causing the issue and will report my findings.
