Not really, no. Hulkageddon is too limited in scope and easy to avoid, not to mention it's a free-for-all event rather than something that just a few can join and enjoy.

I don't know about the previous blockade, but based on Tippia's characterization I expect Burn Jita to be very similar to Hulkageddon: limited, easy to avoid, and fun for the whole family. So I don't see that CCP will need or want to treat it any differently.

Man I been hoping to see something like this happen. Also, Ive forever wanted to (but really just dont have the balls - and figure if I actually TRIED this Id pop myself and the ship and not kill anyone and that wold be just so anticlimatic) train a character to smartbomb suicide gank and park him at Jita 4-4 and see how much damage I can do lol.

NOW we have a CCP who are fearful of upsetting their player base to the degree they leave en masse again so they are in the untenable position of trying to appease everyone at once, which is IMPOSSIBLE.

Actually, often it is possible, if you manage expectations and try to keep things fair - and if your audience aren't children with entitlement issues, which may be CCP's major problem here.

In this case, high-sec players should not expect to have WoW-style non-PVP zones. This game handles things differently. They should also be flexible enough to adapt if their favourite trade hub turns out to be unprofitable. (I pressed the wrong key once, ended up looking at a map, and noticed there are other star systems in New Eden - imagine what it must be like to travel to those systems! The mind boggles.)

Meanwhile, if CCP has stats which show the current game mechanics are too heavily balanced in favour of the gankers so that economic activity is impossible in high-sec - and I haven't seen a thread which effectively demonstrates this - then nerfs to bring things into balance are fair enough.

Nobody needs to quit the game.

Crunch your thread?

CCP think they want the game to be all "l33t" and "hardcore" as they put it but they don't much like the idea of running at 30K subs so bi-polar? Have your cake and eat it too. I'm sure there are a few other analogies to describe the greed but it all means the same thing. Money talks and bullshit walks.

Make all EVE 0.0 sec, put Empire fleets in high value systems. Noobs can adapt or die. That's what CCP say they want.

Ahahhahaha holyshit there no roll eyes big enough.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

One side - Privateers and unlimited wardecs... Broke game mechanics, Empire is resaonablely to be safe and being able to simple paying isk by 1 person to be able to wardec most corps in eve was game breaking

Allowing Hulkaggedon:
Faction Drop push people out into low sec - it takes effort to get standing to get into high sec
--> CCP is not just allowing to stay the same: Some exploits are being removed in the with the new aggression system this summer.

Burning of JITA
--> Faction Drop push people out into low sec - it takes effort to get standing to get into high sec

There is no pay out for Insurance
There is no way to maintain this for any period of time.

CCP needs to allow these actions to take place as it makes eve Dynamic. Encourages people to take a moment to say stop for a second something is not right here. BUt eve also allow people to react to it....

I also most importantly allow me to blow up and pod that Annoying little Mushroom Farmer flying in his Tangu who insults everything I stand for. Even though It may take me a week to recover. And I know several people feels the same way.
Eve is unique in self regulating griefers in just that way.

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

Isk is king and the market will always prevail, the desire for profit warps faster than a gank fit Tornado, many will benefit financially from burning Jita and others will sleep through it and wait for the smoke to clear. CCP alts will be out in force in salvage ships and the minnows will try to steal the scraps while the big fish are choking on their meals. Much will continue as before and perhaps we will all congratulate The Mittani for bringing such frolics to Empire, if it is to become his downfall maybe these words can be etched into the side of the Jita monument to remind all that follow that power is fleeting and illusionary.

Ozymandias

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
