Good work on collecting all these into one post. Seen you do it a couple of times now..
One thing though, could you possibly also include a link to the original thread for each that has one? Easier for people to peek into those for any additional details or discussion on the individual dumps and choosing the one best suited for them.

The idea behind collecting all in one post was derived by the fact that CCP Stillman was posting the SDE and IEC links and made that post sticky. Since he doesn't do it anymore, I took the initiative. What better way of having one thread of same related posts.

Although everyone is an individual (and I respect that a lot) we are still a community. No one should 'steal' the credits of someone else work, therefore the mentioning of the creator for each version.

If someone has something to comment for a specific version of the DB conversions, he only has to mention to which version he's referring.
Personally I prefer, instead of bookmarking, monitoring and getting notifications for several topics of related content, to get only one.

But that's just me.

Either you completely misunderstood what I was suggesting or you just like writing a lot (whats with the lecture on crediting people lol? Lol).
I haven't seen any valid point for not including a link to the original thread YOU found the dump in question from.

Example:
Steve Ronuken's version: mysql55-cru16.sql.bz2 (original thread)
Luminocity's version: crucible1.6.65449-mysql5-v2.zip (original thread)

And your suggestion comes out from the fact that you have a debate with Steve Ronuken about which MySQL engine is better to use, and you like people to follow that. So?

I have already given you my reason.

Funny you should mention the community in your comment regarding credits and then break your reasoning down to personal preference Lol

Not here to argue with you though, was just a suggestion. And for the record I got nothing on Steve. The more people doing conversions the better, at least it gives options to choose from.

When someone is asking to post a link to the original thread, what I understand, is that he wants credits for his work (therefore the 'lecture' in my second post) which I have already given.

Asking to post a link to the original thread just to drive people to it (for reasons other than the work itself), is just devious.

We are exchanging opinions here, not arguing. And I totally agree with you on your last comment.

P.S. The deeper reason for creating the topic was the fact that you and Steve couldn't agree to stick to a single topic (no offence). Just imagine, let's say, 5 people doing conversions and each one creating he's own topic. A lot of choices but you will have to search a lot to find them.
I'm just the middle man here.
