Hi I am a new player, and my two weeks of trial are almost up. A friend has given me some cash to start out with, and I have bought an Osprey and levelled various skills without any real direction. Now I've been invited through the Buddy programme, and I am thinking of re-doing my character, levelling skills with more of an aim, while he also gets the plex when I upgrade to a full account.

Question is, how do I transfer money and gear from my trial account to my fresh buddy account?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: I tried logging in on both accounts to see if I could give things in space, but I can't log in to two at the same time, which also makes sense. Can I log in on one, jettison all my gear and then log in and "steal" the stuff from the container with my other account?

You can't log in with a trial account while any other instances of the game are running.

What you can do is get your friend to hold your stuff for you: on the old character, station-trade everything over to the friend. Then log in the new character and have your friend trade everything back.

But can I do station trade on a trial account at all?

What you cannot do with a trial account is use the contract system in any way, or transfer money to other characters. Once you and your friend are in station together you can trade just fine.

So spend all your ISK on stuff that is easily sold (e.g.: minerals), trade all that junk over to your friend, then trade back to your new account, and resell all the assets to get the ISK back. You'll lose some through sales tax, but 98% of your stuff is better than 0% of your stuff :)

Another method that works for transferring stuff other than ships:

1. Train Anchoring 1.
2. Buy a secure container, like a Giant Secure Container (a.k.a. "GSC", holds 3900 m3). You will need an Industrial to haul it, unless you bought a smaller secure container.
3. Launch for self (not for corp), and anchor the secure container somewhere in space in a 0.5 to 0.7 security system, and at least 5 km from anything. Don't forget to bookmark the location so you can get back to it.
4. Set a password on the secure container AFTER anchoring it. Setting the password before anchoring has no effect!
5. Optionally set a name on it. This is usually only done when you have several containers.

Anybody that knows the password can use the secure container.

The secure container will remain in space for 30 days after the last time it is accessed, so it is possible for it to remain in space forever.

Actually you can log in with a Full account and a Trial account on the same PC at the same time. The old method on Windows still works. Just for fun I tried to run 1 Full account and 2 Trial accounts and it works just fine.
