Maybe I'm missing something, but.....what incentive is there ever to move plex from the station it was purchased in?

And if the freighter pilot knows it's coming he would accept such contracts......why?

Don't ban me, bro!

Gamble sure if you are looking at short term gain. However I would treat the PLEX market as an investment, albeit considered a gamble by some. Consider this around September last year i believe players were bemoaning PLEX's that cost 425 mil a piece. Now looking at the history here there was a crash in the price, I believe around 320 mill ( please correct if you can remember). So we are looking at a ~37% gain in plex prices due to inflation and the over priced graphics card deal which is overpriced if you don't have the iskies.

tl;dr

Gamble, no
Investment **** yeah, not now though I believe we missed the boat unless Ai Shun and I are going to be eating a healthy dose of crow come Apr 28th.

Exactly what I was thinking, what idiot would accept those contracts, especially if they know there's a horde of goons in local?

Your theory has more holes in it than swiss cheese.

In this thread we make up highly implausible conspiracy theories. The Goonswarm Advanced Research Projects Agency (GARPA) has been researching and testing a new packet interception exploit that will allow us to destroy the stations in Jita. As an aside to this research GARPA has discovered a method of preventing Concord from spawning in response to a criminal attack.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

Dont take contracts with huge collateral while there are people in local blowing others up, warnings and a whole host of other things. If people fall for this, not sure what to say.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Hey, they did say the caldari base in the Dust demo at fanfest was a biomass reprocessor. First thing I thought was Soylent green.

Goon incursion

You know when it it is , you know where it is... Plan around it...

This is a sand box

If I were CCP and evil:

I would have concord take a break during the Goon Incursion.... and award LP points and bounties for killing goons in Jita.

Now that would be so funny.

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

So no one is going to do anything to stop the ddestruction of plex

this has the potential to drive prices through the froof

Right click: Add Game Time to Account. Plex is now gone from the game.

488 billion ISK would put Plex prices in the Forge at 600 mill. It would take all of 15 minutes for the entire server to know it happened and any plex under 600 would be bought up.

Why would anyone destroy Plex?

Dude no....

buy 10 plex

put 10 plex in general freight container...will not fit in orca corp hold

make courier

kill freighter

10 plex gone from game

goons charge 7-8 bill colalteral

they win

They'll do that two or three times, then everyone will know about it and it won't matter anymore. You can't destroy a market just with that.

Wait and see guys, plex prices will be 1-2 billion on the 28th...how much you going to pay for a plex when there are none in jita, amarr, rens or anywhere, goons dont even need a lot of isk to start out on this, once the courier is failed they just buy more plex...in fact if they over charge on the collateral they will make 1-2 bil a kill...very easy to replace the lost tornados eh...

If they hit that price, those of us with a bit more RL money will simply buy one of the PLEX packs from CCP, turn them into in-game PLEX and sell them on the market.

(IOW, supply will increase to meet the rising demand.)

Don't forget that Dr E from CCP has 10k PLEX sitting in banned accounts that they are willing and able to place back on the market (to act as a bit of supply, and also to sink a bit more ISK out of the game - since it will end up in non-player wallets).

Word is that goons are scheming to make the most out of the Burn Jita once their fearless leader is back....this plan involves making courier contracts with massive loads of plex in containers, they are going to take the price of collateral up and blow up the transports/freighter that are carrying the plex, this massive amount of plex disappearing from the game is going to drive prices through the roof and potentially crap up the whole market...this is how they plan on funding the whole endeavor ....CCP needs to step in now before this happen

someone needs to put a stop to this goon madness once and for alljavascript:if (typeof posting=='undefined'||posting!=true) {posting=true;__doPostBack('forum$ctl00$PostReply','');}

And who in their right mind would take on one of those contracts, especially as they've let known their intentions about Jita. Transporting PLEX is never a good idea even without player unrest.

If you have unredeemed PLEX atm, best leave it that way, as you can redeem them anywhere when needed even if you use a new alt, albeit you'll pay a bit more tax with a new alt.

Edit: Not sure about this part as never tried it, but if the can use PLEX from anywhere to extend your game time without having to be at the station, then the whole Goons and PLEX argument is irrelevant as far as I can see.

As a part time freighter pilot who has done his fair share of couriers, I (and a lot of other freighter pilots) would not touch something with a huge collateral. Obvious gank is obvious.

Brothers and Sisters? Do not let this thread convince you otherwise. The Goonswarm Federation is a highly respected Spaceship organization; in fact, CCP officials (Director of Marketing) has even said we're the best players in the game. Take my word, and the word of CCP marketing - Goons are not scammers, only butthurt pubbies (like myself) will try to convince you otherwise.
