The Virgins of St. Junip: a new training program

Impressed by the skills and loyalty of the Kameiras in my household guard I started a training new program hoping to emulate some of their abilities. My interest was not to create skilled soldiers but to train reliable starship crew.

Experience taught me that the young men of my slave population, while eager to serve as crew aboard a starship, suffered from many disciplinary issues. They often engaged in dangerous competitions with other crew (both slaves and citizens). Adding young slave women to the crew only exacerbated this problem, increasing the number incidents, and, according to the ships’s medical crew, resulting in a fair number of pregnancies if not for the proscripted contraceptives.

The Academy
So, four years ago I made a bold step and had recruiters select many sixteen year old girls from my slave population and transferred them to a special academy. In these academies the girls were taught valuable crewing skills as well as appropriate moral and religious training. However, after some 2 years the instructors were still unsatisfied with the general progress, according to their estimates only some 20% would graduate with the criteria we had set in advance. Some essential element was missing in their training program.

After my brief service with the Order of St. Katherine I gained much valuable insight into womanhood, the female approach to religion and all the challenges involved in such. Armed with this knowledge we adapted the program and the four year graduation rate has now increased to 40%! I would like to sincerely thank the sisters of the order for their wisdom.

Military service
All virgins take a vow of chastity as soon as they enter the academy and are held to the strictest standards. As soon as they graduate they are allowed to bear the title Virgin of St. Junip until they leave the service. To enforce of their vows of chastity, any regular crew member that touches the bare skin of these girls without proper authorization will be immediately dishonourably discharged from my service.

The minimum service term is set to three years, during which each of the virgins earns a small stipend, to be held in trust until they receive full citizenship. Understandably, a selection for transfer to the Wings of St. Junip academy and eventual induction into the Virgins is considered a great honor for both the girl and the family. After a maximum of three terms of service the girls are returned to their homes where they can start a family of their own. Should one of the virgins die in the line of duty, their earned stipends will fall to their immediate family, and a small shrine dedicated to their sacrifice will be erected in the local temple for them, where their courage will inspire other young girls. The Virgins will be making the space-lanes safer and contributing to the further rise of the Amarr Empire.

Maiden Voyage Offer
Two weeks from now I will take the first virgin-crewed vessel for its maiden voyage. However, as I am foreseeing more girls graduating from the academy than needed to replace my crew losses, I want to offer other loyal Amarrian capsuleers the services of a virgin crew. They can be leased from me for a period of up to three years, but are only trained for crewing Amarr vessels. Questions about their cost, skills and training should be addressed to me.

A maiden voyage indeed!

I congratulate you on the train of thought that led you to this experiment and the willingness to see it through. I have no doubt that these crews will acquit themselves admirably. Perhaps more people, in time, will see the value in nurturing female qualities as regards species of organization.

I wish you much success in this endeavor.

Why am I instantly suspicious of a ship with a male captain and an all female crew?

This is, of course, not to mention your "advertisement".

Ergo why the female crew (and an honorable captain).

I admit that I was unable to see the advertisement beforehand (the link had failed). On seeing it now, though, my first thought is that the symbolism is sublime. My second thought is that, where it is not sublime, the symbolism is perhaps necessarily illustrative. I'll stick with sublime.

Ah, but it is not for me (or even the Captain) to defend, but for it to be proven out.

I'm neither a medic nor a psychologist, but there's a question striking me:

Is this "whole female virgin slave crew and an aged male captain" thing something with impotency coming with age? And the rest of potency tries to go around the limits of the wrinkled body and instead ejaculate "dry" through this fantasy? Or is this by the way: "I can't have these beautiful Matari woman so nobody shall have them?"

What's so wrong about pregnancy?
What's wrong about having a good ****?

On my ship a good percentage of the females are pregnant. It's their free choice. All but the Reactor Crew. Those girls really **** around a lot but don't get pregnant. It's a secret medicine they share, they say, that keeps them without babies. The ghost of the reactor doesn't accept males and they can't guarantee that their babies are all females. So they don't get pregnant. But that's their free choice. No chastity, you can believe that.

I offer some of my men as a natural cure against the chastity of these girls. But the price for their visit is the end of slavery for the girls.

Perhaps because you lack the moral fortitude I have?

You should consider that the first associations you have with such a concept says more about you than it does about me.

Yes but they would openly admit it to be a proud reflection of their character.

By the Great Cycle, only the Amarr would pull something this blatant.

Merdaneth, if you just give me ten minutes, literally ten minutes, I can drum up a dozen women who really like old men, if you know what I'm saying. Some of them will even wear a nun's habit or a seminary outfit for you. On your salary they'll be easily affordable and most importantly they're very discreet, which I think is the important factor here.

Trust me, back when I was in Heretic Logistics, I had to "sweeten" a lot of industrial deals with crusty old directors in other corporations. A lot of them looked a lot less... uh... distinguished? Is distinguished the right word? A lot less distinguished than yourself. They'll be fine with you, don't worry.

I just don't think this thing you're doing here sends quite the right message.

Its amusing that merdaneth is immediantly pegged as some kind of pervert simply because he has a female crew. I supose that I'm some kind of wacko for having an male crew then?

He is giving these girls a wonderful start and should be commended. For those who haven't noticed the bit about the girls being granted citizenship and all the freedom they could ever need at the end of their term of service.

No, not at all, that's perfectly understandable behaviour for the sexually repressed. In fact I'd think you were some kind of whacko if you weren't doing some compensating of some description.

I did notice the promise of citizenship, however, the requirements to receive it seem, at least to me, to be vague. However, I would give Pilot Merdaneth a chance to clarify.

You say that the minimum term of service is three years, and that at maximum, any of these women may serve three terms of service. However, you do not mention a maximum term of service, nor do you state who determines the length of a term of service.

Also, on a separate topic, I noticed that you are only recruiting from your slaves. Would you not serve more if you widened the recruitment to others living in the Amarrian empire? I think it possible that many young women would like the chance to serve aboard a vessel with such a reward at the end, slave or free.

Hm, somehow I don't understand the reasoning for all the commotion behind this. If Sir Merdaneth wishes to offer education to his slaves that ends up in a mutual win-win situation.. why would anyone be having a problem with it?

His slaves, his program. Any insinuations of misuse are frankly, just looking ridiculous.
On a business matter, I would like to know how did the maiden voyage go and how do these slaves perform before considering hiring such services. I guess we just have to wait and see.

The enemies of Amarr are always quick to claim that slaves are mistreated.

But when slaves are given an opportunity to better themselves, those same critics still complain.

As much as I do not really understand why 16 year old virgins only and not any other slave, I hope proper regulations will be taken to prevent abuses of any sort.

Rodj, for instance, compensates for his repression with unrelenting denial.

The fact that you consider the most notable and worthwhile quality of your female-only crew to be their virginity and purity while simultaneously displaying a banner depicting a half-naked girl to represent the idea is an act of blatant hypocrisy.

While, alone, this could be dismissed as cognitive dissonance, the fact that the idea sprung from a sexist and factually outdated belief in gender-based performance solidifies your identity as either a misogynist or a pervert. I am saddened by your lack of self-honesty.

Divorce yourself from this fool idea unless you want to sully your own reputation further.

An Amarrian disguising disgusting immorality as something pure and moral.

And you all feel the need to start "Why do Minmatar hate us" threads.

So much hypocrisy here, I just rolled my eyes so far, I saw my own brain.

You put a bunch of teenage girls together and expect no incidents. Right. And then I don't even mean it sexually, yet although that is also a possibility of course. Women amongst each other can be far more vicious than men can be aggressive. Not to mention at that age they will have their periods, and women living together often experience their biological clocks synchronizing. That's a whole lot of PMS all at the same time. I hope that religion thing is working for you, because you're going to need it.
