Hell

How about getting loan contracts back up again but with isk. You loan a player Some isk with the express intent That you take a percentage every time his wallet flashes

Example: I loan Player "NeedAdrake" 50 million isk to buy a drake plus fittings. While we talk it over we reach the arrangement that he will pay 25% interest. But we also reach an agreement that he will pay 20% of his wallet flashes until the debt + the 25% interest is paid.

Contract layout

Contract type: loan ---> private ---> Player, corporation or alliance name ----> total to be loaned: 30 million isk ----> interest: 25% ----> payout: 20% per wallet flash ( this will be 20% of whatever isk flashes his wallet ).

Since there is no expiration date, and characters wallet are not going to go negative to pay you back, people cannot exploit this unless they play you for a fool and not use the character anymore.

This could be great for business starters, Noob characters looking for micro-loans, etc.

Include a credit history which includes how many loans the player has taken and how many he has paid back.

And its not that easy now? How about, you dont loan out money and the beggers make their own isk from scratch. If you are greedy and want to make isk off someone else's back (you loan 100 mill, they return 125 from your example) then just do it your self and not be a dunce. Trust and respect have no value in a sandbox game, if someone doesn't respect you enough return it and you are too trusting....zero value between both parties.

I understand your point but due to how realistic the eve economy works, this is just a natural step to make it more realistic. People would be more willing to lend other people isk if they had a true system that would permit such a thing. New types of corporations could be built around this type of infrastructure. This is in no way being greedy, If I was I would just do incoursions all day long.

Need some sort of collateral if the loan is linked to a simple character. If it were linked to say an alliance, or perhaps a corp then, perhaps something like this could work with out collateral.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.  - William Pitt

Yes, it is. The bolded parts are like a code, but its all about human nature. Try googling EVE banks. They work! Oh wait...thats sarcasmn. Then try the freeform contract that got nerfed years ago. It worked! Oh wait..thats more sarcasmn. You want to institute a new game option, players will find a way around it. It really is pointless to just give money away, since more often then not its a scam and the only value you got for your money was how gulliable you were.

Never give money, unless you REALLY know that person.
Keep it small.
Loan monkey / items, don't expect them to comeback or get karma comming you way. If it does, be surprised.
Make your own way in EVE, cause if you are begging you will most likely lose it without realizing what true loss is.
