+1 to you issler for being the only one to speak your mind, and not wait to be coached into a responce behind closed doors. I take my hat off to you sir

Ummm, I think one other CSM was pretty vocal about the whole thing. Calling for Mittano to step down, writing an Eve News 24 article about it, etc etc

Yeah, sorry dude. What i was refering to (Or trying to, i suck at typing) was that he was the first one to speak up/out (That i noticed anyways). But yes, +1 to you also :)

You're a good sport Issler we goons may see you as a powerful thorn in our side, but there's plenty of respect over here on this side of the goon aisle for not only you but both of your supporters. Your valuable perspective is one we look to when forming decisions and larger scale policy

How ironic you timing is with your apology. I mean this is rubbing salt in the wound and you acting like your taking the high and moral ground. When in reality you tried to capitalize on the events at fan fest for your own personal advancement. I for one do not accept your apology. In my humble and personal opinion I think you should resign from the CSM. After all if your of high moral fiber this shouldn't be that difficult for you to do.

You may as well resign, Issler. Nobody is going to take you seriously after this stunt.

Issler i think that after this charade you should resing.

Issler, here's an issue where it would be fine that you implied yourself... wardec changes suggested by CCP have a potential to effectively destroy hisec smallholders, miners the first of them.

The money quote:

CCP SoniClover wrote:
Q: How long will wars last?
A: As long as the aggressor pays every week and no one surrenders (or no surrender offer is accepted), then a war can last forever.

Essentially, they wardec you for 25 or 50 millions a week and there you go, forever war or become canon fodder to every last griefer in the game. Or bribe them to stop wardeccing you (such a briliant strategy).

This is a concern. I had a long talk with Alek where the war dec mechanism came up. He has some great ideas and I am sure you can expect to hear from him on the topic (as well as from me as I hope to work with him and any of the other CSM that wants to adress the issue) after we take office.

Wars need to achieve a goal in some reasonable time. I'm not sure that the changes we heard in the fanfest presentation are the precisely right way to get war mechanisms consistent with that idea.

But, yes, thanks for pointing it out. Good news is someone who seemed to have real insight into war mechanisms (Alek) is part of the CSM 7.

Issler,

You know Mittani received death threats? People even threatened to kill his dog. You encouraged that.

You also miss the point of being on the CSM; we don't care about your opinion on the matter, you're our representative at the stakeholders table, not our political leader.

Since you're full of morals, resigning shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, and see you in high sec in a few weeks, I've got a gift for you.

I have said and I will repeat it again.

LEAVE MITTANI ALONE IN RL!!!!!!!! Anyone that harasses him deserves to be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!!!

Hard to go wrong with "Stairway to Heaven" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit" although I really random with what I pick, for example I think last time I karaokied I sang "Roundabout".

My last band (which I was the primary vocalist for) did a lot of virtually unknown indie bands, before that I was pretty committed to 60's and 70's power pop.

My current project if I ever get time for it is an all female Refreshments tribute band. (the Tempe AZ one)

I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to lighten up a very negatively emotional thread on occasion. If you find my sense of humor not to your liking I apologize. I certainly make spelling errors and they've turned into to funny posts in response so this wasn't meant to make fun of anyone.

Are you saying that the gaming media had nothing to do with blowing this issue out of proportion? I think you'll find that the gaming media had a far greater involvement in this issue than D3 or Issler, by a long shot. Are the people calling The Mittani's home even EVE players? Or are they random jerks who read something about The Mittani where his real name was mentioned, and just headed straight to the bat phone to harass him in person? I haven't heard anything from The Mittani about this yet, but my assumption is that the great majority of people who are harassing him by phone or email are not EVE players.

Why isn't Mittani allowed to respond to criticism? The 30 day ban happened well after the actual events, and he took the time to respond to a number of threads during that period. I think you'll find that he did actually respond (or "hit back" in your terms), but you probably weren't paying attention because you were too busy foaming at the mouth and ranting rabidly all over the forums.

Please take the time to think about what you are posting, rather than vomiting bile all over the forums the moment someone says something you don't like.

The word for what you are doing is "hyperbole". The people that encouraged the harassment are those who misreported the facts, and those who accused the Mittani of giving out the victim's real name.

If you don't care for a candidate's opinion, why did you vote for them? Unless you're a goon, you'd be best represented when voting for someone whose opinions most match your own.

He seems to be doing fine on twitter.

If he had anything really important to convey here I am sure that at least one of his at least 8000 friends would pass it along (or are passing it along, most likely).

What should have been great publicity for CCP at fanfest, with what they've done with Eve and Dust, is being completely overshadowed by a couple of "journalists" looking to get more hits by character assassination and libel, and a couple of sycophants looking to secure their future in the CSM.

CCP is the real victim here, and it's truly disgusting how a few have stolen their thunder, thrown them under the bus, just to discredit a political enemy in a fantasy spaceship game, all while pretending that they give a **** about Eve.
