Hey guys, I've read the patch updates, but as I go I'm finding alot has changed...

I'm especially worried about pvp - eg a simple change mentioned in the patch notes will have many unrecognised 'knockon' effects that i will miss.. etc etc..

I fly small ships, t2 frigs mostly.. hybrid/shield assault ship, torp bomber,

also fly hulk & mine rocks,
also drive all caldari haulers

Also wondering about random things.. clones, insurance, station timers, anything anyone can think of that has changed recently that it might help me to know?

Hybrid weapons got a boost recently, as did assault ships (T2 frigates such as the Enyo). Apart from that just get out there and have some fun :)

Oh, and lots of module renaming is in progress.

Beside boosts to suicide ganking, there was no change that would get you killed.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

They have removed insurance payouts for suicide ganks. There have also been a lot of cosmetic changes (the game looks really pretty now) and a few changes to item names that have produced more sense and reduced confusion.

They've also added a few gankboats - battlecruisers that can fit battleship weapons that have low EHP - because who needs EHP when CONCORD is coming for you?

Destroyers also got a massive buff across the board. Look into them.

Yes they did! Destroyers are actually good for more than just ganking miners now!!!

They are actually especially good for ganking miners now. P

But also for other things as well. A 500 DPS Thrasher can wreck anyone's day.

Drone Alloys are going to be removed in a couple months, so alot of speculation on whether it will make mining more profitable.

Time dilation slows the passage of time on overloaded shards to combat lag. Probably won't run across it unless you find yourself in a large null sec fight.

There was session timer changes that I don't really understand.

Neo-com got upgraded. More customizable.

POS fuels are now manufactured into a block and the block is put in the fuel bay.

Incursions - New PvE thingy that you can make ridiculous amounts of ISK from.

Walking in Stations - Very big disappointment.

I'd create a zero-SP alt and spend a couple of sessions doing the rookie tutorials. I lot of little things have changed in the past 18-24 months. The tutorials will force you to do things you wouldn't think to do or want to do. So you'll notice a lot of the chances while you're doing them.

+1 on the tutorial, just finished doing it myself after returning from some time out and it was certainly a good refresher

More specifically, if you land the Blockade or Gone Berserk as a L4 mission, you now have to fight a '70s glam rock concert lightshow with fog machines and disco balls in addition to the pirates.
