CCP: why is this thread still open? It is yet-another-Mittani thread, and it has pretty much no content beyond pointing and laughing.

What the hell use is ban one guy for harassment, if what you do next is move discussion about where the lines should be drawn out of General Discussion and let threads about bashing one individual player stand?

So the years of the GOONS is slowly coming to an end as everyone they trashed and stepped on have been waiting patiently for their revenge. So an idiot...Mittani opened mouth and proceeded to gobble co.....you get the idea. obvious he was not drunk. his EGO got in the way as usuall as we have seen it many many times.

GOONS have no leadership.
Mittani circumvents ban by using tweeks to keep allliance organized and plans revenge by holding Jita hostage

From the appearance of things he spends more time with eve and tweeting then with his wife. I have to agree from an earlier post. spend time on the beach with the wife and puppy and snacking on ice cream. take the time to enjoy the things you keep letting pass you by. wise words but lost when you eat the rage muffins.

He has 30days to do something productive. take a vacation since he is a fa....retired lawyer. the wife i bet would love to be taken somewhere romantic other then gaming event.

It is very much clear that this is the glee of people who never had to deal with the media, and what amounts to character assassination (No, I'm not talking about his EvE guy), in real life.

I wish it upon no one to be hounded by terrible pseudo-journalists like the gaming press is filled with.

I never liked goons, my alliance choice and corp choice when I moved to null was based entirely on it had to be an alliance that had no ties or no friendliness to goons. That was a matter of playstyle. I was working as an unbiased and to keep intellectual counter arguements to the whole issue. Respecting Mittani's apology and that passivity until CCP and CSM announced their decision. It seemed fair, and in 30 days, it would have been more than blown over had it been taken like the king of space. Look at the thread I started about the Jita burn, almost no hating.

I think only twice out of 10 pages it got off topic and misdirected? For the most part, people like the idea and feel it would be good. That rant though, done defending his position. Feel bad for the goons, that rant is bringing the part of their rep that is good for eve down. (even if it is as a bunch of griefers, they still bring the biggest fights to eve). I hope they bring the rain to Jita still, but for the goons, not for Mitt.


Sorry are you saying that Mittani "Deal with it " who leads the biggest alliance of (on there own admittance) griefers and trollers in and out of game, who admits enjoying meta gaming and thrives on the "Goons aren't here to ruin the game, they just want to ruin your game" philosophy doesn't like being on the opposite end of his own treatment ? wow Shocked

I am curious as well. Lawyers get paid well, but it's nothing like investment banking or trading. Maybe his wife works while he sits home all day playing Eve.

Dealings around the game both inside and outside the actual client are business as usual and nobody should be surprised if their alliance forums get hacked for example. The line is crossed when the people behind the characters get involved directly and pointing fingers at the person behind The Mittani incessantly is just as bad as what he did during the live stream. Probably worse since the actual incident got resolved without much fuss. Everyone is willing to let the thing go except those with an agenda that far transcends the boundaries of EvE Online, a terrible spaceship game.

The difference is that everyone knows Goons lie and scam - but you pubbies are accepting everything said or written by anyone with an axe to grind with Goons in general, and The Mittani specifically, as the God's Honest Truth. So who's the more despicable - the people who tell you that they will lie and scam you and then do just that, or the people who swear they are telling the truth and would never do anything deceptive or underhanded and then lie and cheat you?

Mull that over while we prep for The Mittani's triumphant return as Eve Online's most despicable Space Tyrant.

It's a shame that the gaming media is distorting truth to generate sensationalism and increase site traffic. It really is.

Unfortunately, it's a harsh reality of media. William Randolph Hearst controlled a nation with it. It's made Rupert Murdoch a billionaire.

The more prominent you are in a given group, the more you're a target for these people. That's the price of fame...or perhaps infamy in this case. It's why people who are in these kinds of positions tend to be very careful with how they act in public...especially when members of the media are around. Even then it's impossible to keep from generating scandal. Ever glance at a tabloid cover when you're at the newsstand?

Still, resorting to childish insult-wars and hissyfits accomplishes nothing. Better to go with the tried-and-true politician response: "These allegations are baseless, and I will be pursuing retractions into each factually incorrect statement." Be above the situation, not part of it.
