Do the EWAR ships ever get used for incursions, if they do which ships are preferred and who would be willing to take one.

The HQ fleets run by TVP make frequent use of jammers. Mostly I've seen Widows being used, but it's a very dangerous job, because you'll attract aggro like a jar of honey attracts wasps. In a pre-loaded site you can pretty much guarantee the jammer gets it.

What do you think is more useful?

DPS / Tank ship - footsoldier when going in to a site
Logistics - medic to patch up the foot soldiers
Jammer - to lock out one, maybe two ships and waste a slot in the fleet that could of been more useful from one of the two choices above.

So yeah, EWAR ships are pretty useless outside maybe the webber bonus on the Hugin to slow them down at a greater distance. But then even the Loki is better at that.

When you're locking out three ships which have crippling neuts on them, they make life quite a bit easier. Like say in a TCRC for HQ fleets. Speaking of which...

HQ Fleets love jammers. We absolutely adore them. But make sure you, the FC, and the logi's know how to actually treat one, or you will become space dust. Jammers attract so much aggro in an HQ site it's not even funny. Widows are preferred, but Scorps work as well for starting out, and are almost as efficient. That whole cost thing helps the scorp as well.

Occasionally asssault fleets make use of EWAR to: we fit it on the anchor to let the heat off the paper tank ships.
