The Goon problem...

I've read a lot of posts by goons concerning the alliance panel. Normaly i respect the opinion of every player but actually nearly every goon post i've read, looked like it was written from a 5 year old baby that lost his favourite toy.
We HAVE to do something about this!
I've never cared about the goons and their stupid trolls (-> Gallente Ice Interdiction etc.) and yes this is EVE and EVE is bad and so on. But we have to cut a line, an ethic line.
Ethic and morality are not that important in EVE but there has to be a minimum of respect. A minimum of respect that protects players from that kind of harrasment that you can feel, not only the loss of one ship or something like that, i'm talking about psychological harrasment.
The Mittanis statement at the alliance panel was that kind of statement that walks over that border and as CCP already wrote in the DevBlogs it's not ok. And now the Goon Swarm Federation is supporting this without any regrets. I'm writing this cause we have to set a signal.

A signal against psychological harrasment. Spread this all over the universe, let people know that we're not just stupid idiots without any sense of ethic.

As a side note, and more serious one, in EVE players create content, and the Ice Interdiction was a nice touch regarding the sandbox and how players can influence the game enviroment. Lets not mix subjects. IMO it was like a player driven incursion.

I see no Goon problem.

Anything that goes within the rules of the game is just that.

They do play EVE, just not the kind of EVE a lot of people cry about.

Sorry Ice interdiction was awsome and am looking forward to see if jita actually burns and if there are any clever ideas IN GAME to deal with it. As far as i can tell there is no IN GAME goon problem. To be fai the only reason they get away with stuff is becasue we (me included) let them. I'd suggest shooting at them or start the first suicide ganking war in Jita or somthing.

Out of Game, the person in question has apologised and i belive he means it, resigned and took his punishment (moaned a bit but hey what did you expect!). Out of game we will see what happens next, hopefully it will be finished and the person in question will actually use thi to do somthing positive, but to carry on shouting for them to be 'Dealt with by CCP' or whatever is pointles. This isnt about the goons, its about one person who made a mistake. Might be worth moving on and shooting stuff now.

I would just like to point out that psychological warfare techniques have been used for centuries in order to defeat one's foes. Sure, we could (and will) just blow up everyone's ships, but that doesn't have nearly the impact of making people actually get angry at a video game.

This entire thread just goes to show how good at psychological warfare we goons actually are.

P.S. The Ice Interdiction was a really good show of just how much a single group of people can effect the entirety of the game.

P.P.S. The Jita Interdiction is probably going to make you cry. Or something.
