Has that infomorph gone back to sleep?

I've been horribly distracted for the last several months, and have been trying to catch up. There was a great deal of buzz back then about an "awakened infomorph." The creature was credited with several minor miracles at the time, but near as I can tell, has now completely vanished.

Has there been any additional word?

Fortunately, my quartet of researchers soldiered on during these months my own inaction, and now I have such marvelously adorable little sheep dancing through my dreams. Fluffy as infomorphic wool might be, however, it is not the remnant of a civilization lost many thousands of years ago.

Speaking of remnants, as I recall there was also some excitement about aggressive tactics emerging in wormhole Sleeper populations. I haven't been back into a wormhole in ages. My colleagues here at Viziam have grown strangely reluctant to discuss that space (resisting even my formidable reserves of distilled spirits and oiled entertainers...).

Have there been any further evolutions in Sleeper response protocols?

We ponder.

I do not know, but did you know that CONCORD and their Minions the Secure Commerce Commission have now authorised limited trading of male exotic dancers?

It seemed relevant to your interests.

That is such heartening news! Where can they be acquired?

You're going to tease me with some horrible alphabet soup of a system floating between Hell and and the little hairs on the last gate in Deklein, aren't you?

To my knowledge, the entity never reapeared after the incident where it "spacial rifted" a pilot during a Nation incursion. Moreover, there have been no further - to my knowledge - sightings of mased Sleeper drone counterattacks on capsuleer operations like those that preceeded the appearance of the "Awakened Infomorph".

The Synenose Accord was and still is heavily involved in investigating both the Awakened Infomorph incident as well as the change in Sleeper activity. Our report and other sources are listed below.

Also, it is our intention to make a presentation on the Awakened Infomorph at the Third Seyllin Conference, which you are welcome to attend.

To answer the question however, Sleeper activity has been somewhat subdued of late, and the Awakened Infomorph has not reappeared since the report. Its origins, intentions and current status is currently not known.

If we can be of any more help to you or your investigations, please don't hesitate to ask.

I thank you for this response, and I believe I see some of our difficulty in that other topic. In the spirit of reciprocity, I should be a bit more forthcoming.

"Evidence" is information which makes a proposition more likely to be true than would be the case in the absence of that information. When a sufficient amount of "evidence" has accumulated to cross an accepted threshold, it can then be said there is "proof.

The existence of an Awakened Infomorph makes "rumors" of an advanced form of consciousness transfer more likely than would be the case if there were no such entity.

Discussions about the Awakened Infomorph, here and in A-J channels, track new "rumors" disturbingly well. We were even then concerned Sleeper "infomorph" technology might overload the consciousness of an existing personality. My own "Electric Sheep" project was in part intended to observe the effects of prolonged existence as a "pure" infomorph, and to explore the effects of frequent transfers

Fluffy prancing sheep are no threat to the cluster (though addicts of "cute" might be in some danger).

Human consciousness over-ride would be another matter. Persons of substantial influence could become the epitome of "sleeper" agents. The Awakened Infomorph demonstrated an ability to force vessels into wormholes. A super carrier vanished into a worm hole of unknown origin during an incursion into Amarr space, later to "escape." We tried to follow up with the Imperial Navy and CONCORD as to the health of that vessel's crew, but no information was forthcoming. To borrow from pulp fiction: "do they walk among us already?"

Contracts. And presumably other places. Though I heard there are several to be found in Minmatar space.

Sure enough! I just picked up nearly a dozen feral emaciated youths - at a facility of the Theology Council, no less! Marvelous! Simply marvelous! They've gotten their shots and dips in vats of Mummy's special skin preservation cream. Little pieces of Heaven, each and every one.
