The longer this goes on the more disgusted I get with the hypocrisy of all the people harrassing Mittani.

I am not sure it counts as hypocrisy if you do something to someone who has openly defended doing such things to others, as long as you do not do it to someone who did not do so.

It does count as doing something because "he started it!", though. And that should have stopped working as an excuse when people graduated from kindergarten.

We should be talking about how to lessen the verbal harassment culture in EVE in general, not paying it back.

You do know that the accused is not even alowed to post on these forums to defend himself, right?

Err, reread.

I am sure even the most delusional goonie alt admits that The Mittani and Goons have for years advocated that it is their right to ridicule and verbally berate people who "shed tears", because that is part of EVE. Even now they are saying that, even those of them who think Mittani went too far. That is all I am accusing The Mittani of in my post. (If you are saying that even that is not true, forget it, we are not in the same reality.)

My issue is with the people who use the above fact as an excuse to do the same to him. What I am saying it is not really hypocrisy, but that I find "he started it" a pretty bad grounds to do something like that nevertheless.

I would rather people left him alone for now and we moved on to talking about whether we actually want the goonie-spread culture of pointing and laughing at people who get upset for losing pixelated spaceships to continue.

Regardless of whether you're pro-Mittani or anti-Mittani, you have to give some credit to the idea that his Twitter postings are making him look a bit immature. Perhaps it is just me, but they come across as the temper tantrum of a small boy who's not used to being told "no".

I really wish for his sake that he'd take a little more time to breathe and a little less time screaming, because it's doing him no favours.

It bothers me that despite all his talk of "owning his mistake", he's very quick to blame other people for the consequences of it.

Not that I could honestly say I'd act any differently. I've always wanted to go to Iceland.

I doubt you have ever followed that belief YOURSELF in your entire life.

As an excuse to attack and judge others? I'm sure it's swell.

It lets you indict the world. Anyone and everyone except the absolutely most kind. Notice I didn't say good, I said kind.

Yes, what a terrible and anti-social attitude to take.

A slightly odd position to be in. To be fine with the punishment, yet irritated at the drama and obvious ulterior motive based behavior surrounding the situation. If you voice that annoyance, it immediately gets rebroadcast as tears or fury at the punishment... as apparently context is a dirty word on the EVE forums.

As they say though, this too shall pass... and in the end simply magnify the Goon reputation as having pivitol roles in many of EVE's most memorable events.

... and I don't even particularly like most Goons (thought there are exceptions).

well i was referring more to the fact that if one were to google his rl name they may get an impression that most professionals would want to avoid

i would think he would think he would want to lessen the exposure but vOv

The stupid thing is goon has been for years ruining the game play of others, suddenly heres the the chance for the other to strike back and make the goons cry.

The others (myslef included) have picked up the ball and run with it and ar milking it for all its worth ?

Sure it wont change anything, but I know I have been laughing my ass off at all the crybaby goons,

The goons dont understand it, so used to have shoe on the other foot they cant handle it. Hopefully get a few more days of this at least.

And for burn jita I know I will be out in cheap expendable frigate alts with the intention of seeing if I can nail any pods

As an employer I don't think I would seriously consider whether a person got banned from a video game for 30 days as viable criteria for determining employability. if I had questions about it, I'd ask. If I was still curious I'd dig a little deeper and find out the actual details... but that would be pretty far down on my list of criteria.

Fortunately, since he is retired, it is a non-issue.

I don't feel a lot of sympathy for him and I think we all revel a bit in Mittani-tears, but I'd be yelling from the rooftops too if I'd made a drunken joke and some media outlets treated it like an honest desire to make someone kill themselves.

Not a fan of Goons or the Mittani but I think this has gone quite far enough now. This is out of all proportion to anything he did. He stuffed up. He said sorry. Just let it go and fight them on the battlefield instead of with words.

You guys don't even know the half of it. I'm on the inside and I can tell you that we all can not stop crying over this. We are literally going to drown in our own tears. I can barely see to type this post due to the tears in my eyes. This video game just means so much to us, guys. I don't think I can go on with my life.

My character portrait is me irl. If you guys don't stop bullying us over this, I'll... I don't know what I'd do.

I find it quite humorous that people who say they hate Goons seem to have adopted the very habits, beliefs and phrases that Goons used. I guess that old saying that if you stare into the abyss long enough, it stares right back is true. The Goons didn't have to do anything at all - you've all willingly become just like them. All your excuses, all your justifications, are meaningless. Take a good long look in the mirror - you've become exactly what you despise.
