Is it just me?

I have been playing eve since 2003 and loved it to bit until recently. Now I have come to loath it.

Recently we have seen a new launcher - basically doing what the competition does

We have seen ship mods renamed - making them easier for the thicker people out there to understand

We have seen more commercialism with the option to purchase clothes for Captains Quarters - which imo is rubbish and an over use of system resources to run

Where is CCP going with the game?

We had a game that was different. It was complex and fun. That is slowly being eroded by so called game improvements, which quite frankly were not required. The game did not need a new launcher; it did not require missiles and mods to be renamed for the f**kwits fraternity out there. It did not need a new menu interface etc etc.

Is it just me or is the game going to hell?

Recently we have seen a new launcher - basically doing what the competition does - This is not dumbing down the game. This is basically catching up to what other MMO's have been doing for the last 5 years

We have seen ship mods renamed - making them easier for the thicker people out there to understand - This isnt dumbing down the game, and does not affect gameplay. So if I rename the Drake, Missile boat #1, it makes it easier to use the Drake? Thats pretty much what you are saying.

We have seen more commercialism with the option to purchase clothes for Captains Quarters - which imo is rubbish and an over use of system resources to run - This is not dumbing down the game. This is an attempt to attract a new audience. It does not make it easier to play EVE.

Dumbing down the game would be things like:

Making NPC's easier to kill or
Not loosing your stuff when you die or
Getting rid of market taxes or
Reducing the skill requirements to build stuff.

My conclusion:

You dont know what dumbing down the game means.
