Even considering all that has happened, I don't think Mittani would be very happy if that came to pass.

It's irrelevant whether he gets in a future CSM or not. He can just do as everyone does in RL: make everybody vote a trusty pet and then manouver him as a puppet. He got all the capabilities to do so.

I can understand being interested in speculation, but there's really not much point.

It's a bit like asking "would you sleep with Graham Norton?". It's not very likely that you'll get the opportunity.

Who?

Now, Jewel Staite, wow...she is a fox!

hell yeah she is,. and bring back FIREFLY!!!!!!

Hell yes! Firefly was awesome! This is now a thread about Firefly and how hot Jewel Staite is.

No one was disenfranchised. They got to vote. He blew it. Its all his fault. Lesser people would have been banned instantly as has been the case in the past. There was existing precedent of people being banned for lesser infractions.

You being a mittani fanboi is hilarious.

The funny thing is that in your hatred of GSF you are willing to literally burn Eve itself to the ground. Its far less about me being a Mittani fanboy and far more about me simply wanting what's best for the game itself. And frankly, I think its pretty inarguable that he was an effective player advocate - regardless of politics.

And let's be clear: I am one of those ~elite PVP~ people that Goonswarm continually lampoons. And I return the favor. Its just that sometimes we need to put aside our differences instead of trying to burn our house down around our ears.

Im going to add that the EULA/TOS do cover this. It was a CCP sponsored event where they were representing their alliances etc. There are many ways the EULA/TOS apply.

There are a large number of ways in which someone could argue that the TOS/EULA do not apply. In fact, a strict reading of them will imply that they do not in fact apply. However, as I said in the blog post: CCP disagrees. And even if they didn't disagree, it is within their power at their sole discretion to ban any of us. And that's really all that matters.

I still contend you are one of the worst of the worst of the **** posters and what you are doing borders on real life harassment and defamation.

But when the EULA/TOS do allow the Griefing of a Player "Character" ingame, what truly was the difference between doing what was announced at the Alliance Panel Ingame to thousands of Alliance members and other allies, or doing it on camera during an alliance panel to the thousand or so viewers. People react like Alex told everyone his real name, but it was just his sob story + ingame character name. Unless you are an EVE player, nothing Ingame was breached, the the method of delivery makes it appear otherwise.

Though it may sound so bad and horrible to those on the outside (or those on the inside that have yet to learn how this is found enjoyable to others) this is what makes (made?) EVE so unique and different from the mass of other MMO's, If this part of the game dies, then it just turns EVE into another one of the WoW clones that punishes playstyles that think outside of the box.

Just throwing up a quick poll as I am curious. Outside of the other candidates, would you (re)Vote for The Mittani now even after what has happened?

Quick Yes or No Poll

What is done is done for CSM7, but we do have CSM8 to ponder about in only a year. It will be here before you know it...

...and when it gets here, Alex won't be allowed to run because he's been banned. More accurately, it's up to CCP. And considering how he has conducted himself after being banned (accusations of being "thrown off a cliff", "thrown under a bus", "nailed to a cross") over a silly 30 day ban, I'd say his exclusion is a foregone conclusion.

See theer you go talking all crap again, ccp stated clearly that he could run again in csm 8 if he chose to.

Yes, yes id vote for him again.

please do not post here if you didnt vote for him in the first place since that is what the op asked. WOULD YOU VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN?

Didn't vote for him the first time.....

Only Goons, Goon pets, and the ton of Goon alts.....

Which reminds me, we seem to be missing some of the most vicious Goon mouthpieces on the forums, what happened?
Is it possible that many of them were simply Mittani alts? Shocked

Actually I did not ask if you would vote "again". While I know many would, I am curious who wouldn't and who would now after the recent things going down.

The Mittani is human, and showing that may have turned a few interested players in his favor.

Now I did ask if you would vote for him OUTSIDE of whomever you did happen to vote for. More along the lines if he could be re-elected right now, would you push him back in or not?

More firefly guys!!!!

But as not to totally de-rail the thread lets keep it within the OP's theme, which is hypothetical scenarios with no relevance

-You board the firefly class vessel known as 'serenity' seeking passage to Capital city, i risky venture that forces cptn Malcolm Reynolds, Zoe Washburne, Hoban Washburne, Jayne Cobb and book to temporaly leave the ship.

leaving you with River Tam, Kaylee Frye and Inara Serra.

Suddenly they become overwhelmed with what can only be described as 'the space horn', Is it some sort a space virus? a new chemical weapon made by the allaince?? who knows??,. who cares??

As time passes ( about 2 seconds/or enough time for a shout of glee from yourself ) they become savage in the lust for procreation.

However time is short as the rest of the crew is on their way back, you have only one decision to make,. which one?

vote now!

To answer OP's question (your poll site is ****), yes, if I hadn't voted for Hans this time around I would have voted for The Mittani and I would have no real problems voting for him in a future CSM election. There is no question he was an effective player representative who wanted what was best for the game as a whole.

As for the situation itself, it's pretty stupid and disgusting all around.

Some guy used suicide as a bargaining chip (and in the end got exactly what he wanted).
Some guy advised others to make that guy commit actual suicide from harassment (and rightly got banned).
A bunch of people used the "victim" for political gain (and are now playing the smug card).
10058 CSM voters were disenfranchised (and are rightly pissed).

I think CCP did the correct thing in the end. I don't know about all those votes, but CCP is well within their rights to manage that in any manner they see fit.

Now that's a perfect sum up of the events, spot on.

i don't think anything more than that needs to be said,. now lets get back to firefly

While I didn't vote for him for CSM7, and wouldn't vote for him in the future, due to him simply not needing my vote, I don't feel any less inclined to vote for him after the recent events. What he did was over the line, yes, but once he realized what he'd done he manned up and openly apologized for his actions. I think that most of the anti-Mittani rhetoric going on right now isn't because of his actions, it's because of people who already hate him using this as a focal point for their rage.

Do I agree with his in-game practices? Typically no (though I do believe that the griefing and scamming Goons do is good for the game as a whole, Eve is a harsh universe after all). Was what he did at Fanfest over the line? Yes. But does this diminish his effectiveness as a CSM representative in communicating the needs of the game to the devs who are working on it? I don't believe so, I believe that he would still make an effective CSM member, despite his lapse in judgement at Fanfest.

I agree. I am looking for other Poll sites that suck less (would be nice to have one within the forum), but I haven't dug up much since I started and changing it now would make things messy.
